Evening all,
Does anyone know the post mount size for both front and rear brakes on a 19 Levo?

I'm fitting Hope V4 calipers and I'm presuming I will need different mounts than the stock ones fitted for the Guide REs?

I can't find a ruler but they look roughly 180 so I'm thinking they should be the Hope L mount (180 - 200). If anyone knows for sure though that'd be great.

Thanks in advance!

Both front and rear are post mount 180mm, so if you are going to install 200mm rotors you need 20mm PM adapter, if you install 220mm rotor you need 40mm PM adapter ...

Hope HBML is listed in their documentation as

Postmount 160 > Postmount 180mm
Postmount 180 > Postmount 200mm

Presumably, that should be two completely different parts or is my brain not working correctly?

No, this is the same adapter: if you put it on fork with 160mm PM you will convert it for 180mm rotor, if you put it on fork with 180mm PM you will convert it for 200mm rotor ...

M is to go to 220.
So, it is brain freeze.

I thought that the post mount number was the distance between the posts on the fork/frame? So, either 160 or 180. A 20mm difference. Is that not the case?

For what it's worth, I'll not be fitting these brakes (good thing) but I'd like to get all the parts I need to dump at the shop and get the professionals to sort it out.

Already deleted brain freeze :ROFLMAO:

I think this picture might explain your questions about post mount system:

? Yeah, now I'm just more confused haha.

So, basically, HBML will be the correct size for 200mm rotors on my 180 post mounts front and rear.

...and, finally. will I need these adaptors or will the stock ones already fitted work as they convert from 180 - 200 already, albeit with different calipers?

Yes, stock adapter is PM 20mm, so it converts PM 180 to 200 so I think your current adapter should fit just fine, of course if you stick to 200mm rotors ...

Thanks again!

I presume it's possible that the different shapes of the calipers could make them incompatible with my stock adaptors?

I'm basically trying to avoid booking my bike in to get them fitted and then having to leave it due to the wrong adaptors ? I'm aware you haven't tried them so couldn't say for sure!

These adapters are usually pretty inexpensive (they costs about 15€) comparing to the new brakes, so if I were you I would buy these Hope adapters anyway. Also for a reason I am a bit OCD so I like to avoid of mixing brands of components on the bike ...

if you get 200mm rotors or use the existing the mounts on the bike are fine. we mounted mine with no problems
Cheers, good to know. I've already ordered them though so will keep the others with the guides for if I move the bike on. ??

Richie, as far as I know, you'll need the HBML mount for the front which will convert from the 180 post mount to the 200 disc. For the rear, the caliper should just bolt onto the post mount without an adaptor for a 180 disc.

I'm confused about the same thing, hoping someone can jump on and clarify (y) I have Shimano brakes with 203mm rotors on my bike, front and rear. I am wanting to use Hope calipers & rotors instead. The Hope rotors will be the same size, 203mm. Do I even need to get mount adapters? Or am I all good to use what I've already got? ?

no adapters needed if you get 203 hope rotors, I did it with no problems at all
Thank you for your reply! Awesome! Are you running the E4s or the V4s? I have E4s on my accoustic and love them, but I'm wondering with the extra weight of the eeb would V4s be a better bet?
