Levo Gen 2 Levo Comp Invisiframe

Hi all
Has anyone had their Levo Invisiframed?
I had my comp done and am not sure if it’s been done right.
I’m not sure if the FSR come with factory fitted paint protection but my Levo has.
the shop that did the InvisiFrame have stuck it all over the existing as well where they would have been better off just doing nothing as there are now air bubbles and only very small contact points for the InvisiFrame to adhere to.

just after some guidance as to whether anyone else has had this done and if their bike had factory fitted protection already in place.

Also note overlaps and parts applied on forks and side above motor where there are loose parts of the InvisiFrame. Above the motor and below the bottle cage is also not applied in the centre so a large gap on one side and an overlap on the other.

What are people thoughts on this? Should I be happy?

I'm still waiting for my Levo Comp, but I saw a size S in the shop and it had 'factory' protection on several places.

I’m glad you feel the same. Last thing I wanted to do was complain only to find that I am being unreasonable.
I’ve since spoken to InvisiFrame who also say that the standard should be higher.

I did my 2020 comp myself using a Chameleon Skin kit and it ended up quite a bit better than that. Note that I did intentionally elect to put the PPF on top of the factory applied film and stickers which made the Specialized logo on the downtube less visible (fine with that) and resulted in some thin enclosed air gaps at the edges of the factory film. From the pictures you showed the things that would bother me the most are places where the edges of the film are not sealed to the surface. Anywhere that happens dirt will get under and look like crap and in some cases gradually grow. You should at least trim any place where you can't get the film to firmly attach. IMO a tiny amount of exposure is better than loose film.

If it helps, Invisiframe said that their advice is to remove the factory protection rather than work around it because theirs is usually of a better quality even though thinner. I suppose you could say “they would say that”. So it’s a point of preference I guess. I know it’s supposed to be good but the specialised protection also looked very good.

I did mine by my self twice already. I did it waaay better on my first try. This is terrible. It will get worse once you start using bike.

That's absolutely pathetic.
I would not be happy at all with those results
I would expect much better if I were paying someone else to do it. At least a little care and attention.
Not the greatest pics, but I can see specks of dust trapped under the tape, edges not stuck down and sections not placed properly and overlapping.

If they didn't want to do the job, they should have said so instead of wasting your time, money and invisiframe kit.

Specialized Chester said they didn't have a clean room to fit it, so I did mine myself, in a carpeted room with cats being nosey.
I covered the existing protection too. Although it's not perfect, mine looks ok with less air bubbles, dust specks, better adhesion on the edges and no overlaps.

I don't think that's very good .. I did mine better and it wasn't a new bike when I did it.
I took the plunge when @Pyr0 posted his results and my own results ( thanks to my wife's patience ) seem better than yours although pictures can always mislead. Ive done my forks since.

Definitely try to get a refund, if you are any bit OCD and good with your hands, you'll do a much better job yourself. Did mine on two bikes and both came out virtually flawless.

I did take off all OEM PPF but left decals on. The levo oem PPF is super thick too, I'd never go over it with the thinner invisiframe

Been back to the shop. They are going to re-do it. There is a conflicting argument between them and invisiframe around the paint warranty being void if the original PPF is removed so I’ve asked them to sort that out between themselves, Specialized and invisiframe. I am pretty OCD with this stuff by the way but just find it hard to allocate a half a day or more to things like this with the risk of it not being done right. The irony of the time I’ve spent driving back and forth and taking photos, videos, speaking with them and Invisiframe.... false economy right here I’d say! ?

Just make sure when they remove it they use a hairdryer/heat gun otherwise they run the risk in the paint coming off

There is a conflicting argument between them and invisiframe around the paint warranty being void if the original PPF is removed so I’ve asked them to sort that out between themselves, Specialized and invisiframe. Good luck, hopefully they take more care this go around. If warranty is of any concern just tell them to not apply the invisiframe over any of the OEM PPF and leave it be. tbh the few spots where the oem ppf is, the invisiframe doesnt cover any more anyways, the only spot I can think of that has decent oem protection is the downtube. You can always custom cut the invisiframe piece to go around it for this and do that spot yourself. just an option.

When I fitted mine there were a few pieces that went over the existing protection, I just left the originals in place and kept the Invisiframe parts as spares.

I only part Idid fit over the existing film was the downtube, to give extra protection.

the bike shop have ordered a replacement kit and have suggested I leave the bike as it is, use it over the winter, then they will redo the InvisiFrame in the spring using the second kit they ordered and FOC. The interesting thing is they or InvisiFrame spoke to Specialized who said if they remove the original PPF that came with the bike it voids the warranty. Are there likely to be any Specialized staff on this forum that can explain why? I see it as a perishable item and it would be a bit hard say that once your PPF starts to peel your warranty goes with it. Does anyone know any better? If not, just bear this in mind when you get a shinynew Specialized and you so wider removing their PPF!

Specialized is pretty good with warranty's. If it was to void the warranty it would just be the 2 year (I believe that timeframe is right) warranty on just the paint, not the structural frame warranty.

Now with that said, I put only about 100 miles on my 2020 before I did the invisiframe and the OEM PPF on the linkage and behind the motor casing was already coming off so I cant imagine they would stiff you. But either way you shouldnt have any paint claims if your bike is mostly invisiframed anyways as it will be protected.
