Hi group,

I'm looking to get a brand new Levo Comp.

I wanted some advice, would you get:

2019 Levo Comp - £4,250
2019 Levo Comp + extra 500Wh battery - £4,500
2020 Levo Comp - £5,500

I've been on a Stumpjumper FSR 120 Pro for 10 years, so looking to move to an ebike and not sure if the 2020 is worth the extra £1,250

Regards,

Marty

I was going to pop in to Specialized today and see if they could give me a 700wh battery instead of two 500wh ones, but they seemed quite direct with what the offer was and that they wouldn't divert from the offer.

Not much change in spec on 2020 from 2019 so not worth the extra imho.

With batteries there is no one answer, I know I would prefer 2 x 500 and save some weight but if you are 100kg+ and do a lot of 40+mile loops maybe 700 would be better.

They are giving you 15% discount which is nothing special, my LBS has low overheads so 15% is normal, they won't probably lower the price at this stage so aim for extras, free 500w battery, decent pedals and tubeless and then it is a deal and you could be riding on the weekend.

Really!?

You make it sound so easy. I've spoken to, and emailed a number of places, and they've either been, no we don't price match, or £4250 and that's the best we're going to offer. Take it or, we've got someone else coming to buy in half hour.
But then I'm down in Essex, on the outskirts of London, so maybe there's more client base for them here, and they don't 'need' the sales.

It probably has to do with timing as much as anything else, with the paint still drying on the 2020 models they are not going to be doing cracking deals on the 2019 yet and most shops will not do any deals by email. I was looking for a 2017 Expert at runout prices when one shop offered me the 15%deal on the 2018 at the start of summer so I was lucky but I am in a different country. You could wait and get lucky but then choice of sizes and colours will get limited, no one wants 500w batteries and that is a good price for an extra battery. Hell we all go though the same dilemma but given that it is your first emtb and the weather is not bad a couple of hundred will be forgotten after the first week, it was in my case.

Call Berkshire cycles in Crowethorne. Speak to Chris, tell him EMTB forums suggested you call him and I am sure he will look after you if it is a cash deal. He doesn’t do finance.
