Hi there

My 2019 Levo has had a hard life. I’m on motor 3 with a performance bearing upgrade. I’ve had the bike in bits several times and do all my own mechanic work. It’s all fairly straight forward… I’ve recently stripped the paint and refinished it which is a job I don’t wish to repeat!

The difficulty with these bikes IME is reinstalling the motor. Juggling the shadow loop (cursed thing!) the TPU wire and the derailleur cable whilst aligning the motor into the frame and reinstalling the bolts is really tricky and I’ve yet to manage it without damaging one part or misaligning something.

Anyone have any advice about how to do this cleanly? It’s more than a little frustrating - the little subframe that is held by the two smallest rearmost bolts is a terrible design that seemingly has to damage the brake hose or derailleur cable during the install procedure.

I’d love to hear from you if you’ve got any tips on motor installation on gen 2 models please - sequence of tasks etc

Follow up Q - is the shadow loop necessary with a wireless dropper?
Many thanks

If running a wireless dropper and wireles rear mech then the shadow loop is not needed

If running any one or both of these then its needed as if not fitted the shadow loop tube which your cables pass through can move around and casue issues and get pinched
