Nice! Would love to make my way out to Co. to ride.

I just got my A50 last weekend and plan to get some vids soon. Nothing too spectacular here in Texas though. I still have an old-school GoPro so the footage is always a bit shaky.

I went from a Hero 4 Silver to a Hero 10 Black and the stabilization is great. I don't run any sort of gimble or anything, just a good chest mount. I have ridden with a few guys out here from the Austin area and they all talk about some of the riding in that area. It sound pretty popular honestly.

Finally got around to doing a full loop out at Floyd Hill here in Idaho Springs. This place is savage. I've broken it up in chapters for each trail and the last one (Sluice) is the black/double black diamond trail. It's so well done.

Yeah mines a hero 3 and on a chest mount it’s almost unwatchable footage lol. Need to just go ahead and upgrade.

There's decent technical riding here but the closest thing to a bike park or mountains is Spider Mountain in Burnet. About an hour from Austin.

Just did a 17mile ride here locally this morning. First time taking the RM on some chunky and technical climbs and descents. Did fantastic considering the weight. Had the assist cut out on me randomly though and that was a surprise suddenly having to pedal a 55lb bike.

I had that happen to me a few times after I did a pedal change on the bike. I went from some composite pedals to an aluminum pedal and forgot to recalibrate. If you just threw some pedals on or maybe didn't put it in the largest cog before a calibration, I would give that a try and see if the issue comes back.

Some sick trails and views out there, love all the rock work, drops, and jump lines. Looks like it all flows nicely.

I did a recalibration and I think that sorted the intermittent power issue but I've only put in about 9 miles since then. Also pulled the trigger on a Hero10 set up so I'm going to get some vids to add to the thread of my local trails and hopefully get out to Spider Mountain soon on the PP!

Hell yeah! Throw up some videos when you get some time. I've been chasing some new creaks on my A30 recently. Driving me crazy trying to grease down everything searching for it. I love having this silent ONYX hub but now I hear EVERYTHING! lol

I’ve heard the headset on these can be a source of creaking that you prettt much can’t get rid of without replacing. Saw where peeps were replacing with Chris king or cane creek head sets on the FB group. Something to consider if you can’t track it down.

My next wheelset will have onyx hubs, love the silent component. The shimano hub that came on mine is pretty quiet though. Thinking nobl tr41’s with onyx hubs. So far my only upgrades are cush core on the rear and some Rev grips.

Unedited clip from last weekends ride on the A50, pretty vanilla. This trail is fun and technical in places but not many drops/jumps/features.

First time with the new GoPro, need to either adjust the angle up or change the field of view to super view.

Looks like a fun place to ride but yeah, when you are sitting down it's still a bit too low and when you stand going down it's almost a top down view of the top tube. Superview does help but it makes everything look pretty small. Angling it upwards more will help give the viewer more time to understand what is coming and how difficult the line choice can be. I also record in 4k so it gives the most amount of information to edit, but the file sizes get huge. Good start though! Keep at it brother!

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking with the superview, the added distortion makes it hard to read terrain. I almost didn't even bother posting that video since it was so bad. I have a different mount I put on so I can get a much better angle for the next ride. Need to go somewhere a bit more interesting next though, Madrone is a good 8mile loop to condition on but lacks a lot of the fun stuff.

It's honestly hard to get good footage and make it interesting with a GoPro. Give it another shot and post it up. It's all a learning curve for sure. I just recently got a new mount that attaches to my bag. I did a test run on Monday with it and the footage was too high. Worked well when climbing and you could really see the steep trail in front of me, but then going down, it was just sky.

I have a helmet mount that goes over the chin guard that I think would probably give the best angle/perspective regardless of body position but 95% of my riding I wear my half shell lol. I'll play with it next time and try both more angle up on the chesty and give the helmet mount a go. I think with the added speed of the e-bike the full face helmet won't be so bad in the heat, plus fall is coming up.

I should have my Planet 3 speed sensor planetary gear reducer in next week which should raise my assist to somewhere around 30mph. Only "de-restricting" device I could find for the 22 models. Looking forward to that, 21mph in top gear feels like hitting a sand trap lol.

I've got a helmet mount as well on my full face, but I have yet to give it a go. Like you I don't use it often enough.

I think you could probably do a solid review of the Planet 3 speed sensor and get some traffic on your channel. From install to impressions, probably make 2-3 ~10min videos on it. One of them will probably catch. I know a lot of people are interested in derestricting. I've got a Bafang DIY Cromag I put together for commuting. It's a beast compared to the Rocky. Doesn't look near as clean but it has way more power and a thumb throttle, along with fenders and other stuff for commuting. It will hit 34mph with a bit of tail wind and a full charge. It's honestly pretty scary.

Oh nice! I saw a guy at the trail head that had that same chromag set up on a hardtail, he was asking all kinds of questions about the RM. Commuting on a bike is out of the question for me but I could see that being a nice set up under the right circumstances!

I might do a little write up on the Planet3 if all goes smoothly. I can get the RM to mid 30's on a steep downhill but it's work. The same downhill I can hit 40-42 on my guerilla gravity smash lol. I'd like to fit a larger front sprocket on the RM but it doesn't appear to have the clearance to do so.

Ended up getting another ride in this week. Using a new chest mount on the USWE Flow 16 bag. Works well with a half shell helmet but a full face I hit the camera on the chin piece all the time. Bit unfortunate. Nothing crazy about this ride but some great technical climbing challenges. They never look very steep.

Nice! Camera angle looks perfect. Jealous of those riding views.

My last ride on Sunday was too wet so I didn't bring the gopro but the Planet3 device works like a charm. Assist now runs up to 30mph or near the top of the tallest gear. Verified by road side radar. Feels like how it should have come from the factory because now you don't run out of assist unless you're flat out or really hitting some steep downhill where it doesn't matter anyway.

I also noticed I had a weird intermittent grinding noise coming from the BB and turned out the large allen head that holds the torque arm sprocket on was loose and was binding up at times. It was giving me an error that the torque arm was jammed when I would try and recalibrate. Really have to go over these bolts on a regular basis on this thing.

Dude, no kidding. I have been doing bolt checks every other ride now. I even have to go as far as to take off the rear cassette, file down the high points on the driver body, and torque it back up. I've also had to run a tap through the motor mount bolt holes and blue loctite them again. I got a crazy amount of creaking from that area. I blamed most of it on the headset but I think it's a very light creak from the headset. The massive downtube makes any bottom bracket creaks just magnified.

Was able to get a good ride in on the A30 week before last. Ended up tearing my DHR II so badly that the sealant couldn't do it alone. Shoved two bacon strips in it that lasted for another mile or two before letting go. Ordered some new DHR II's in Double Down casings, so shouldn't have this issue again. The EXO casing just not enough for these Colorado mountains.

What mode were you in to help clear all that chunky rock in the beginning?

Trail+ or Luda. It's been how to manage these pedal strikes for me, so getting a quick initial boost and a heavy helping hand when I have to half crank has been key. Really need some 155-160mm cranks on this bike. Even with Ride-4 in the highest position. Noticed the head tube change but the BB height difference wasn't really noticeable to me.

I have the same bike and no clue what year it is. I thought the green A30's were/are 2022's currently on sale. The 2023 appear to be a different color scheme and component spec. Only reason I'd like to know for sure is in case I ever decide to sell it (very unlikely) I'd like to know the actual model year.

Little rowdy run down a local Black Dimond trail out here in Black Hawk, CO. Put an EXT shock on the back and a Charger 2.1 in the Domian. So much nicer in the chunk.

Hit up another spot out here called Rutabaga Ride. A downhill only bike trail located just outside Morrison, CO and RedRocks. Really awesome trail. Got caught out in the rain on the way up but after the first 2 minuets or so it dries out and the fun doubles and rock drops begin.

Coming up on some snow in the forecast for us. Still a couple more weeks of good riding weather but it's slowly shifting. Been a great year on this bike.

Riding season once again here in Colorado. Went with a friend to check out a trail out in Boulder called "Lefthand Canyon OHV". GoPro never does justice but, this place was gnarly. Super steep and very technical.
