Going to Skye tomorrow and was hoping to do something enroute at torridon or Attadale area. Also fancied a mosie around Raasay on Friday. Struggling to find a campsite with hook up near where I want to be. I only use campsite to charge the battery most of the time. I think a spare battery is needed as I don't see charging stations by the dozen appearing any time soon. I had ideas of touring with my gravel bike and tent. One site I looked at you need your cable and Rcd plug for a tent hook up . Takes a fair while to charge a battery I remember folk on about going in to a cafe , need to have a ten course meal while you were waiting. And there used to be a myth going about on here that battery charges to 80 percent in 1 hour , definitely need one of those. Place I am staying at Fri and Saturday no ebikes or battery's allowed on premises and no cables going out the window. I am tempted to take another ebike as well or an Analogue one. Rant over

I think about the EV or hand held device market. Those are starting to become standard connections. The charging connections for ebikes, e-shooters, etc, is almost endless. When we take our eMTB’s on vacation I must pack charging bricks(2) specifically for our bikes. On our last vacation there were 4 (maybe more) different charging bricks for 8 ebikes/emtbs.

Magnetic charging might be the future …but I don’t know if I’ll see that in my lifetime. 🤷‍♂️

Gripe over.

Never heard of charging bricks so looked online. You managing to charge a Ebike with one of them or am I missing something.
You mean actual chargers i thought you meant a power bank you could plug in to battery, I wish 😭

I guess I call it a charging brick ( looks like a brick) even though it’s just a transformer with some safety features. Usually comes with every eBike. Point is; there’s nothing standard between different manufacturers.

Yes you wonder what will be the battery range in twenty years time ,we won't see it . Ebikes can't get too reliable or bike manufacturers won't make enough money.

Charging stations would be nice. Standardizing would be nice. But my concern would be theft.

I could not leave my eMTB outside a cafe, on the sidewalk, while the battery is charging , even with locks on, unless I’m within reach.

I think I’ve reached a new level of paranoia. 🤔
