Kids full suspension bike

Looking to get the lad a full suspension bike (non electric).
he’s age 7, any recommendations as he‘ll probably grow out of it in 18 months.
don’t want to spend a fortune

it's honestly a waste of money buying a 20" or 24" wheel FS mtb if you're not prepared to spend rather a large chunk of money.
Frames and suspension components are fairly awful under about £1200 and even then overall spec isn't likely to to be great.
If your budget is less than a grand I'd spend it on S/H or a nice light hardtail with good fork and components
