I think Rob has sprayed it with that stuff they spray new cars with the day before you go see it for the first time.

It looks like the dropper has been removed because it makes the saddle too high. Good job I included the cut down seat post in the deal!

Our entry in the “Awkward size for kids bikes now 26” is an endangered species” category... ?

It went on it’s maiden voyage today to rave reviews; replacing the old 3x8 with 1x10 Deore was a huge hit, and having a fork that actually moves was a bit of a revelation too! I even inverted the stem to get the stack height down whilst she grows into it - a must if you have Nino written in huge letters on the seat tube... ?

No longer the cheap second hand hardtail we were going for, but better than pretty much any off the shelf option below £500. Definitely worth all the scouring of the classifieds and a few hours wrenching.

So a few random thoughts on kid's bikes. I have been tough on my boys and they have hardtails and they learn how to ride light and pick lines. The lighter the bike the better but I got tried of straightening wheels so some Spank wheels are working a treat with 2.5/6 Maxxis tyres in the bike park at Lenzerheide, I will fit something better rolling when I get home.

Lenzerheide should be on your bike park visit list, the bike park itself is good but not huge but on the other side of the valley the natural flow trails they have built are some of my favourites about 1000m vertical and 40 minutes to get down (I am not that fast! ). The older son stole my old enduro and I could not believe how fast he was and his line choice again a testimonial to years on a hardtail. We have done a week or two in bike parks since they were 7yo and the skills they learned will stay with them forever. So wrap them up in body armour (rollerblade pad set is the cheapest way to get started) and hit the lifts, the only downside is that they really get the shits when they have to pedal uphill!
