I’m hearing noises an update will follow soon for the motor, to go from 35NM to 50NM

Has anyone heard the same?

Anyone that’s grabbed a discounted SL will be well pleased! Lovely bike, but underpowered IMO

Saw the emtb video on the lightweight/lightpower eebs the other day and in the uphill drag race the Kenevo SL was significantly quicker than its higher powered/higher torqued competitors which I found personally amazing. Was just up a tarmac hill and I'm guessing it would probably be quite a bit different in a more technical climb

I heard that Spesh had 'leaked' something along those lines, presumably reasoning that someone looking for a bike with 'more' torque than the SL offers then they might wait for the new SL rather than buy an Orbea Rise etc.

If that rumour was true, it seems to have backfired on Spesh because it just appears that nobody is buying the current stock of 35 Nm SLs.

That said, I've got an SL, amongst several other bikes, and I do really like riding it.
If you're out with mates on full fatties who want to burn up climbs then you do get left behind, but it's a really great bike for long rides (with the extender) because you can't be lazy with it and just turn up the assistance, because it's giving all it can most of the time anyway. As such, doesn't drain the batteries too fast because it's just not that juicy. Nice nimble bike though, and a joy when it comes to lifting over stuff.

I heard, leaked, 'more' torque and nobody is buying the current stock
How do all these rumors find their way to so many people but we don't hear about them around here? Where do all these leaked rumors about the top secret details at Specialized come from? Is there any truth to any of them or are they just what people want to hear? Are people looking for something that may or may not be true so they can start a ground swell in hopes that Specialized will finally sort things out and reclaim their dominance of the market?
The BIG 3 LBS where I live say they have no idea what Specialized is doing other than possibly doing away with model years (trending to models/versions) and that there is still a shortage of the most popular bikes, from all the major brands.

Sometimes we just need to give our heads a good shake and be happy :D.

I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure that it (higher torque SL) was alluded to in one of the E-MTB YouTube channels, which are often an outlet for upcoming tech info.

As for SL sales, they're dire, just ask any bike shop.

As for a shortage of popular bikes, that's hype, there's currently a big surplus of lots of stuff for two main reasons:-
Firstly, the manufacturers have been outputting more, thinking that demand will continue as it was the past two years.

Secondly, a lot of bike shops placed big orders when there was no supply, in the hope that placing big orders would give them some sort of priority over the little stock that was trickling out of suppliers. However, faced with sales now dropping off a cliff, many have cancelled lots of orders so the stock that was allocated to those shops, is now sat at suppliers not moving.

Hence, lots and lots of bikes are available with big discounts at the moment, and I reckon it's going to increase in the New Year.
