Having slept on it....still can't make my mind up !!!

The black Expert looks good, but close up, those patches on the carbon look a bit odd, so a red comp is the likely choice

In my opinion, the spec level on the 2020 Levo comp is fair. I don't believe the extra cost on higher-end spec is necessary on an e-bike, as the gains are so marginal weight-wise, and you now have a motor.

On a normal mtb weight is everything so it makes a big difference. This is from someone that just sold a full carbon 10.9kg trail bike.

For me, the fork and battery were the big drivers.

The carbon pattern took me by surprise but I think the way it looks bling from a distance and rugged up close is quite nice.

I test drove a comp for two days and the suspension is a bit plusher on the expert. I didn't find the brakes any better, the gears hard to tell as I have converted to a twist shift, the seat dropper is much nicer!

Overall I don't think it's worth the extra money but it IS undoubtedly nicer.

You say that now, but you’ll be glad with the 700wh in about 4 months as you get out more and more often and for longer..!

I think it’s singularly the best upgrade/feature on the bike.

That was my theory ?

So I've put about 1000 miles on my Levos (first an 18 Levo, second a 20 Comp) combined, starting in May of this year. I have had one warranty issue, the handlebar controller went on the 18, which was replaced by Specialized with an updated unit. Other than that zero issues. Ridden hard almost daily except when recovering from various injuries, which include broken ribs, chipped elbow, and concussions. So I've had two brand new bikes (the 18 was a leftover) in seven months, and beat the crap out of them... pretty great experience over all.

At this price point it would be a nobrainer but as it comes from Italy, I’m worried about a potential defect or malfunction.
Would it be covered by warranty? Who would take care? Would I have to send the bike to Italy in case?
Local dealer has no 2019 models left. 2020 base would cost 1100€ more. 2020 comp he would sell me for 5850€...
(I would change several things with all models btw)

My Kenevo came from Italy. Delivery was quick and the bike had been checked over and had the necessary firmware updates. I had a suspected battery issue early on so I took the battery to a spesh shop here in France to see if they could test it, if there was a problem I could then contact the seller without wasting anyones time. The Spesh shop wouldn't touch it, they said they wouldn't help with anything purchased through the internet, even though I offered to pay for their time. This is France though and they are very protectionist. I did contact the seller, but they never came back to me. In theory specialised global care should cover you no matter where you are, so if you had a problem you should just be able to take it to any dealer and they should deal with it - though generally they're not reimbursed for their time. This is one of the advantages of buying a Specialized. In the end I got help from specialised rider care here on the forum. Karsten, another forum user bought his through the internet from Portugal I think, he's had his issues rectified locally in Denmark.

Ah, and another thing: Anybody had problems since the seal upgrades with the motor seals leaking when riding water splashes at speed?

Here in Yorkshire, due to the rain recently, many bridleways have a ‘water splash’ that’s become a quite a bit deeper across a river (up from, say, 4 inches, to maybe 12 inches). Some are now a challenge on a non-ebike, but an achievable blast on an e-bike!

I just test rode a Levo Comp and smashed through 3 of these in 45 minutes in the pouring rain - which it handled brilliantly BTW.

The motor was fine - I can’t say about leaks, ‘cos I gave it back, which was a challenge HaHa!

It was as much fun as I’ve had on an MTB in the UK.

But, has anybody got more experience of water splashes with the upgraded seals?
