I finally spotted a bobcat on my regular ride in Pleasanton Ride Regional Park. I've been hiking and riding here since the early 1990s. They say there are mountain lions (aka cougar, puma) and bobcats in the park, but I had never seen one before. This pic is quite fuzzy for reasons I won't go into, but I know the rule is (or used to be) "pics or it didn't happen".

We had a bit of a stare at each other, then the cat lost interest and sauntered off across an open field.

They are very handsome animals. They look like scaled up house cats, not scaled down big cats.
