Is my bike in the high or low setting?

From the picture is it low or high? I just do not feel like disassembling to find out.

You're currently in the low setting. If you're wanting to move it into the high, undo that lower shock bolt and then just rotate the silver insert... This is the flip chip. Putting this in the high setting will raise your bb by 5mm and steepen the head angle by 0.5 degrees. Especially if you're changing the stock wheels for 27.5 and want to keep clearance ?

Yesterday I changed it to the high setting, it was very easy to do as stated here. The reason for changing is that I am trying a plus wheelset I have with High rollers in 27.5 x 3 and on the first ride I was getting more pedal strikes. I rode it again today and it is now a monster truck! but I need to do more testing to decide what I prefer.

That's great to hear! Let us know how you find the plus size on 27.5, always cool to hear what effect this has on the bike

    No, it is high, what indicates the position is the edge of the plate between the shock eye and the yoke. I just understood this yesterday...

That looks to be in the low position, in the high position your shock should look like this, the bottom of the eyelet should be inline with the high line, i measured the distance from my pedal to the floor (pedal arm dead straight to the ground) and it was 5mm higher than when the shock was in the low position

Well, my apoligy…
I was too quick to reply and did not notice the gap between the shock and the yoke. it is in the LOW position.
It seems I did not understood it as well as I thought :ROFLMAO:

Hi, sorry to dig this one out. I'm trying to understand the benefits of being on the high or low setting, appart from the 5mm clearance in high, what would be the other factors for changing this setting ? Size/weight of the rider ? Type of ride ? For info I'm 6'5 and 95kg with equipment, riding an XL.

This is really interesting, how are they shipped? And as Grichka asks , what difference does it make when riding?

If I understood correctly, yours appears to be in Low position, although it looks like there is a "big" gap in between the shock and the top yoke.

Thanks for the reply Grichka, I’m thinking its high because of the gap, my Turbo is on a Fox shock too which might make it look different to earlier picturges.

Mmh I see, then I won't know for sure. The only thing you could easily do is to measure the distance between the end of the crank and the floor, when completely straight to the floor, and change the setting, as it seems fairly easy to do. Then you'll know in which setting you are.

Thanks Grichka, I added another picture, just tried to loosen it, but it’s so tight it won’t budge. Like yourself, I’m interested to know what difference it makes.

Raising the rear speeds up the steering, down side is the bike will be a little bit more twitchy..
High setting for XC and more sensible rides.
Lower for fast steep decent..and stability.
I have mine set high as I live in a flatter area.
I prefer fast steering and twitchy too, bike feels better to me.
But it's a personal choice so try both..

my '19 shipped in high I prefer it in low. @Levo-Lon is right about the difference, but Levo is a pretty planted bike anyway.

Thanks Levo-Lon, Iooks like mine should be in high, like your area, it's fairly flat here too.

Is there any way of checking what setting it is in? it's a bit confusing at the moment.

Well I've flipped! At the service yesterday I was told you don't need to let the air out of the shock to flip the chip, and to give it a go as it's easy to do.

I gave it a go this morning, only took a couple of minutes, not sure I'm experienced enough to notice much difference. Hopefully I'll notice the difference when I can get out for longer rides. Glad I did it though!
