Is it possible to get 170mm travel out of Fox 36 EMTB forks?

since the Fox EMTB 36 fork uses 34 internals, the longest air shaft they make is 160mm long. For my new bike project, I need at least 170mm travel.

I've been looking at making my own air shift comprising of the 34 plungers with the 170mm shaft of a 36 air shaft assembly as the plunger only has a pin holding in place.

Anyone done this?

I will say that the 2020 Fox 36 Factory 170mm travel forks on the Decoy are indeed normal Fox 36 forks with an ebike sticker. I’m now wondering if all the ebike forks at 170mm travel are just relabeled Fox 36 forks. I also checked a Fox 36 160mm ebike fork off another YT Decoy and it did have a thicker stanchion on the air chamber side and a 34 air shaft.

Did you make this modification? Did it work?
