As per the title , I'm in need of a new rear and stock is horrendous for any 2.4 DD ,bit 2.3 or 2.5 are available .

Anyone ventured from stock sizes?

I use a 2.6 out back with a 2.8 upfront on 45mm rims on my heckler. Very different from standard.

2.6 and 2.6 for me,have the same plus size set up on my bronson 3 and think its optimum for my riding.

however with the assistance of the ebike could probably have a 2.8 on the front.

Went with 2.4 Michelin DH22' racelines, absolute game changer over the stock Maxxis DD's. Always been a fan, but Maxxis tyres seem to have gone to the pack latterly. On my Heckler went through 4 rear tyres in 1800kms, kept tearing the bead off the side wall! And they were always loosing pressure between rides. Since switching to the Michelin's I've not needed to top up the pressure once in over 250kms now. I've also been able to drop 4 psi and they're still holding their shape, not folding off the rim in hard turns like the Maxxis DD's did... As a consequence I've been able to up my speed a bit, loving it!!
