Invisiframe

Had my bike since May but now regretting not getting it wrapped.....1 cm chip from a rock today on the side of my frame.
Rang a local dealer who can do it retrospectivly but was wondering if many of you have bothered getting your bikes wrapped. I've been quoted approx £150 for the invisiframe and labour charge.

What would you all do?
I'm intending to keep my 2019 E2 Pro for approx 5 years...maybe longer depending on how it goes.

Once done you can worry less about minor scratches and general paint appearance. It won't stop hard hits or deep scratches

I didn’t do my Powerfly, I just used some random frame tape I had left over from doing my Mega 275 the year before. It was better than nothing but was nowhere near as good as an Invisiframe kit.

My Rail was done at the LBS before I picked it up. £85 for the kit and £50 to fit. Good VFM in my opinion.

Never done and i think i will not do it also with the future carbon framed emtb.

I've invisi wrapped all my bikes from new as I don't tent to buy a new bike every year, my 2015 Nukeproof mega still in great condition, couple marks here and there but that's on the invisi wrap.
I've even started wrapping some of local guys bikes, obviously for a couple of beers ha ha ha

I have never used Invisframe, it seems to be very good if expensive. I use a protective film called Biketape from biketart.com

It comes in a variety of widths and lengths. I prefer the 75mm width and I find that the 2m length is enough for one bike. I apply it only to the at risk areas and I can double up in the worst places.

I have a 2-page guide to applying bike tape. It is not just my experience and advice, but that of about half a dozen other users. If anyone wants a copy, message me your email address and I'll send you one by return free of charge, and without attached advertising, etc. Ie. no strings!

Booked it in for a wrap next week. Should have done this in the beginning....would have saved some battle scar scratches.

My local invisiframe fitter wanted £150 just for the labour, otherwise I would have had it done

good quality HELECOPTER tape can buy in different thicknesses
clean bike a bit of care to put on, but bloody good
the thickest on the down tube just takes a little time

Ouch...tbh the £150 could rise to approx £180 as the bike will need deep cleaning.

Just confirmed that they'll do it for £150 all in.
The kit is £80 on its own and tbh I'd make a right hash of it. Justifying it to myself though....

I fitted Invisiframe gloss on my Levo Turbo frame and matte on the forks, It took hours, but worth it.

It's not too difficult, it's the cleaning and holding the film in place until it dries that took most time, oh and i'm too tight to pay for fitting!

Yes, gloss is better for the Giant glossy metallic paint.

Hi, I brought my kit from invisiframe, and wrapped my bike, it took me 4 hours to do it..its the third one I've done over the years. It's easy to do but take your time..how much Labour is the bike shop going to charge...

Just had my new 2020 E+2 Trance done. Very happy with it and I believe the Giants need it as their laquer quality is worse than absolute garbage. Just your trousers rubbing the frame kills the lacquer on your first ride!

I too find that the paint on my 2019 Trance chips extremely easily, with the slightest contact with anything hard!

I have been unable to find any matching touch-up paint, even from an auto paint specialist.

To get the right colours mixed you need to know the industry codes.

I have even tried getting the nearest shade mixed, then adding black, white etc to try to get exactly the right shade, but have found it impossible.
