Evening all - thanks to my friends letting me down about going to the Boomtown Music Festival - I have decided to take my new bike all the way to Nottingham (I’m in Brighton) to have two rides, one Saturday one Sunday a visit to Warhammer World, then home again - has anyone got any recommended routes for someone new-ish to riding? I’ve been using Komoot to plan routes and find tours. I reckon I can do 25 miles easy each day if the elevation isn;t so bad!

Basically - suggestions welcomed :|)

Sherwood Pines is within easy reach. Follow NG21 9JL until you turn off the road and then follow the signs for the car park. £8 all day parking, reg no. scanned on entry, pay before you leave the carpark. 10 mile red, 8 mile blue, bike shop, bike servicing, cafe, large toilet block, mountain Segway, GoApe.

There are loads of off-piste trails there, but tricky to find as most of the entrances are hidden by bracken, or they just don't look at all promising. The red and blue trails are best done at your top speed. The car park may be crowded but the regular trails seldom are.

As it happens, I will be going to Pines on Sun 14th Aug. If you plan on going and want a guide to the best of the trails send me a private message.

This was hugely useful thank you!!

I had a bit of a delay and I wasn’t sure if I was going to come but I got up eventually at 4:30 and picked an almost random 50k route off Komoot and had a great run through the nature reserve and then along a load of canals
