Hi All
As a larger rider (6'6" and 17 stone) range will always be a bit of an issue for me. Has anyone who has changed their tyres from 2.8 to 2.5/2.6 found that it made a noticeable difference to the range?
Cheers
If you go for a smaller or lighter tyre and one with a tread/make up that provides less rolling resistance than you will see a benefit, however hard to say what it would be.
You don't need a 2.8 on an EMTB, a 2.5 or even 2.3 will do fine. Whats the bike?
I would try a 2.5, from what i have heard improves the handling on the Kenevo no end too - with your weight though i would stick with a tough casing - you running tubeless? That will save some weight.
Just be aware that as you go down the tyre sizes, you’ll decrease the bottom bracket height (as it says in the manual). I dont think its going to make a massive difference, but not bothered to work out how much.
I gained a bit by changing my heavy Dh rear for a lighter faster tyre , inserts made up for the lighter casing and have saved the lighter walls from damage. I figured if I made changes I know I would feel on my normal bike then it had to help on the ebike ,
