In praise of the Specialized warranty

I thought that i would post to praise Specialized and leisure lakes for stepping up today, as I’ve now come to expect.
in another thread I recently wrote the tale of a long walk caused by a nail going through my tyre and rim tape, cleverly defeating my tubeless ploy......drat and blast it!
Unbelievably, when mech stripped everything today to fit Tannus armour(that’ll fix it) he removed the rim tape and saw daylight! the nail had also penetrated 2 thicknesses of carbon, punching right through the rim Between 2 spokes.
I was about to start crying in sympathy with my wallet, when the mechanic piped up about the lifetime warranty on Specialized carbon wheel sets. Quick photo to Specialized and it’s on the way.
Glad I bought a spesh(was anyway).
Some balance for all the whiney threads complaining about failures.

I rejected mine and got my money back after 3 weeks. Their customer service is very good tbh and no complaints in that respect. But a £5k product should last longer than 90 miles before needing a new motor. They‘re a premium product but don’t have premium build quality. Any item that fails in such short time for me isn’t of satisfactory quality. I had enough of years with Ducati’s to know all about premium products that aren’t as reliable as a cheaper product.
Each to their own though as some folk are happy accepting this so long as the customer service is good, I’m not anymore

Kind of agree, and feel ya vis a vis Ducati. However in this scenario majority would have been up shit creek for a few hundred. I too have had motor and battery replacements, also a remote. Bet I’ve had 50% of my money back In replacement parts so far.
We’re early adopters, almost beta testers in that regard. as payback we get years of fun before the reliable sanitized iteration appears, iow, boring.
i see the bad honestly. Comforting though. Always back on the road in no time too.

So i bought a 2018 Levo Turbo and after several motors/batteries Specialized replaced the complete bike foe a 2019 version. 2 batteries (or 3) and several replaced motors later i get the motor replaced early June 2020 and the warranty is up at the end of June. They dont have a roliing warranty on new parts, the warranty is up after 2 years no matter what. This is absolutely pants and specialized need to review this policy.
