Import Costs on Second-Hand emtb from Germany to England?

Hi, apologise if this has been covered elsewhere but I can’t see anything about it. I’m thinking of buying a second-hand emtb from a private seller in Germany and can’t work out whether I’d have to pay import duty, VAT etc., I’ve had a look on internet, but it seems a bit of a minefield, and I can’t find a definitive answer, although there are a lot of opinions

I'd make sure it's legit and don't pay by bank transfer as you'll have no cover if it's fraudulent.
