I thought about Maven's.......

Bought Maven's (silver as what shop had in stock & had discount)

would buy again:cool:

I've happily rode with Sram's code rsc but the Maven is in a different league(y)

I ordered the super ultimate delux RC2T mid. The fork is the specalized rock shox SID SL ultimate brain.

I like the code rcs.. but i want something blue anodized. There is a version of the rcs that is but im not a fan of the angel at which they come off the handle bars. If im not mistaken maven makes a blue anodized set where the calipers are blue as well. I found some awesome blue discs so ill prolly get those too. I named my specalized the Dark Horse. HA!! It costs more than my car.

I refuse to accept how much we've spent in the last ~18 months since diverting down the Emtb path, would buy a new car (but we have a great collection of old junkers like the 1987 mk2 golf tdi & mk1 Mx5's :cool: )

it does involve 2 new eeeeb's each for me & mrs....🤭

I used to drive a 2006 subaru wrx sti. Built it up myself. Put it on a hertbreak dyno...was pushing 450 horses. All cobb suspension mods, front mount, 850cfm injectors, 18 tdho turbo, all boston acoustics premium sound, black tint, black mags, slotted and dimpled rotors, custom blow off and exaust, 8in rubber all around...got it up to 185 and still had 3000 rms to play with!

My wife likes to remind me that my bike is worth more than her car...it's also insured for more!
But like I said...imagine if I hadn't got the eBike...she'd have to see more of me and I'd be miserable.

I like to keep it pretty clean, its my baby. Next month i have a beefier new fork and midshock being put on!! Ill post pics...

Ive been thinking about mavens too..

Ive been thinking about mavens too..
Mavens look like a great braking system but after some research I decided that they would be overkill for me. I think a heavier rider, with a larger eMTB,would benefit from these (200+lbs).

Besides modulation control …I want to be able to slow down or stop. When I switched to MT7’s Magura I thought that 220mm rotors front and rear would be the answer. Nope 👎. My rear tire was dragging too easily and too often. I changed the rear rotor to 200mm.

Now the front and rear braking modulation feels the same.…and less rear wheel drag. I no longer have an overheating issue, like I did on Shimano brakes.

However, when I purchased the Trek Fuel they came with DB8 Sram brakes. My first thought was to change them over to MT7’s. But after using the DB8’s, for about a week, they felt the same as the MT7’s. Just the brake lever was a little different feel.

If I was a heavy rider I would consider the Maven’s.

I purchaced this emtb last year. I started with the tero 5.0 as i was unaware of the 6. 0 so I traded up to the black on black. Thus far I have mostly utilized it as a commuter. Inner city and otherwise. It has pretty good range. Just recently i was down in colorado springs and had some time...so i hit some gravel for a day. I was impressed with the 520% gear ratio cassette. When i get the new mid sgovk and forks, i would like to get onto some more difficult terrain. The incycles in ft collins colorado does group moutain rides every week, so im gef getting in on that. They have a huge van to shuttle every one up and down the moutain. Very convenient.

I agree with the 200 in the rear. I run 220 upfront and 200 in the rear. Seems to be the right ratio

Also i have a thru axle for a BOB trailer that im planning for longer trips on the moutain. The burley coho XC looks pretty atteactive. It will add considerable weight to the system...ill use these code rsc and see if the do well, if not def the mavens

I think I just got fat shamed. I use a Maven on my front brake. 😔
