How to post a battery in UK?

hi all as the title says, does anyone know a company that will post a battery from within the UK to within the UK?
Was looking to sell my spare, but Royal Mail is a no, and looks like others are also.

Got it in the original box and have discharged it about 50%.

You need to check out courier companies like UPS etc I am pretty sure they will

Did you get anyone to carry battery. Im in process of sending whole bike away and finding it difficult.

A battery I purchased was delivered by yodel about 6 months back. It was just in a basic box and bubble wrapped. Cost about £15.

Cheers everyone i try wont do it. .its a complete bike . Seems parcelforce ok but battery only supposed to be 100wh . 175 with them if you insure. Its over 500 miles each way so not interested in driving myself.

Thats because you're telling them whats in it

Hydraulic brakes are also supposedly a no no, but ive sent dozens, and just tell the PO clerk its something else.

What you sending ? - Its a mountain bike. end of story. Dont elaborate,just make sure its bloody well packed

See the truth of all this is the PO sends millions of battery products through its system each year, and the same goes for hydraulic brakes. If its a big company like shimano they would accept such orders and transport them without issue because the larger companies are paying them for the privilege. So they will and do send this stuff.

I've heard that they do random inspections. If your package is opened up and it contravenes their regulations, they have the right to destroy the contents without compensation. There was a series of articles in the mtb press about this a few years ago but then it was about suspension (pressurised components).

Yes agree. I have posted through parcel force . 175 it cost insurance is the killer. They actually sent me email after i had booked saying it was unlikely to get damaged if packed correctly. Also asking if it was a restricted item and that a lot of things are not covered for damage only loss. Its enroute. Size and weight is refused by most . Small print reads ok for sending connected battery mac 100wh.

Sorted got motorcycle delivery people still £150 each way , parceforce 175 some 250. Cheaper driving myself but round trip 20 hours no thanks. Who are YT and never heard of DX either.

Will check them out insurance is the killer they are all cheap till you value it . Send bike 50 quid if you dont insure it . But Levo Expert a lot to lose. Even driving myself would cost around 250 minimum.

Twice I’ve had a motorbike delivered and there has been an ebike in the bike they have picked up for someone.
The batteries sound a bit like some suspension. I’ve just sent a shock to tftuned for a service and their site specifically mentions Royal Mail sometimes destroying suspension as it not permitted.

Yes motorbike delivery company picking it up and taking back to me still a lot of money. £150 . Parcelforce £67 without insurance 175 with insurance that is the killer. Great if you can buy local but not easy where i am at .
