I bought new Bullet M2 thinking that it will provide stable and fast AP to my home and some friends around. Only problem is, that with default setup my iPhone doesnt connect at all. It sees AP, but refuses to connect even on unsecured network.

I found some info, that I have to select 20 MHz channel width to allow iPhone to connect. Only problem is, that if I select this my max connection speed is lowered to 65mbps. And it is really noticeable when I§m copying some data from my friends connected to wifi. With 40 MHz and 150mbps it is around 4-5 MB/s, with 20 MHz it is only 2-2,5MB/s.

We tried some regular 802.11n router with 2 antenas, and it was able to use full speed and connect with iPhone. So my question - is it really required to use 20 MHz channel width (not to mention airMAX disabled) to allow iPhones to connect?

And if it is not possible, does alternative firmware like DDWRT help here?

You bought a new bike so you and your friends could get fast AP to your house? What's an AP? How will futzing with your router allow your friends to get there sooner? I'm baffled.
