Hi, Again we are proceeding to building our EMTB, now we are kinda stuck on cost and effectiveness question of how many speed do we need for our EMTB?

We are pretty sure that we want our Mid drive EMTB to be Non entry level we want it to be like Middle end , also it has to climb hills with strength and versatility.

No, we are just building this bike from scratch without knowing much knowledge about the system, appreciate it if you could give good advice

A typical main stream setup would be a Shimano Deore/XT with 11 speed and a 32 to 36 chainring in the front and a 11-42/46 cassette in the back. A SRAM NX/GX 11 speed would also do just fine. However, by looking at your picture you seriously have to consider the fork as well as the rear shock. Both pieces looks like some cheep Chinese junk and I would NOT recommend riding the bike on other stuff than fire roads or asphalt.

10 would be fine. Big fan of Shimano Deore 10 speed group set. Reliable, well built, enough gear ratios for an ebike (11-42), and very affordable.

Honestly thinking about replacing my 11sp XT with Deore when it wears out!

Good luck with the build! You'll learn a lot and have a great time riding...
