How long do you usually wait for a warranty repair in USA (Los Angeles CA) for motor on the 2020 Kenevos? It's almost going on 3 weeks for me and bike shop said Specialized still hasn't send a new motor to them. If this is a common breakage for our bikes, why is Specialized delaying shipping on a defective motor replacement? While other European (Berkshire Bikes) can get their customers in and out on the same day. I will be happy if our bike shops can do it in a week! But seems to be the problem is Specialized not the bike shop. This waiting made me wish I got the YT instead :(

My last motor replacement was done in 2-3 days. My shop happened to have a motor available. You should call Specialized and apply some pressure.

I've had 7 motors replaced between my 2019 & 2020 Levo's over 6000mi. Im in the SFV. Most times it took 1-2 weeks, but during pandemic it took 4 weeks one time.
I found the Costa Mesa Specialized factory story. Made a call. Made an appt. and a sob story on how I've had 6 other motors replaced and the fact that I literally bought a 2nd bike because the motors were failing so often (now they are good, with the new revision)
Long story short, on that last motor I took the bike out of the shop where I bought it (incycle SCV) down to costa mesa and they did it while I waited.

I'm pretty sure this was an edge case and they can't be held to do that for everyone, but it was pretty awesome. Well worth the drive.

Ted: I'll be happy if my bike was repaired in 1 week. That would be awesome, but that's not the case for me.

Muzzman: I am in SFV too, I also have a 2nd Ebike, A 2020 Levo. Because I know the motor will fail one way or the other. So at least I have a back up E-MTB and 2 other none E bike. I stuck with Specialized because I am hoping that my bike will be taken care of when this happens. I won't mind driving to Costa Mesa and have it repaired while I wait. That would be OK with me. But that was the reason why I also didn't get YT because I didn't want to drive to South OC when the bike needs warranty repair. But I guess it happens more than just stories you hear.

I called the LBS and they said Specialized haven't sent the motor and it's been 2 weeks. According to LBS they too are waiting for the rep to send them parts. LBS said there's a handful of Specialized E MTB there waiting for motor. I saw 2 when I brought mine in, an SL and a Levo Comp, mine was the 3rd one there.

Specialized rider support in this forum sent me a message to see where my bike is at and offered to help. I appreciate that and I hope they can help expedite the repair.

I Bought my 2019 Turbo Levo from Rock and Road in Irvine, I have lost two motors and they both were replaced in 2 - 3 business days the last of which was July 4th. weekend. I live a mile away from the Specialized store in Costa Mesa and I took my bike there when my first motor gave up the ghost and was given a line of crap and told it could possibly take a month to get a new motor etc. Nothing but really poor customer service from the Factory store which puzzles me. They obviously know there is a problem I'm really surprised that they have not done a recall.

Got my Kenevo back today!
Thanks Jason, Kevin, Isaac and Everyone at Universal Cycles and David from Specialized care rider (Here in this forum) for getting my Kenevo EMTB back up and running right away. With all things considered and in the middle of a pandemic, 2 1/2 weeks of wait isn't that bad. Thank you!?

PS: Good thing I have a Levo back up E MTB to keep me busy! But now.... I am back with the Kenevo! yazzz! Thank You all for hanging out with me here! Hopefully this new updated motor will be long lasting perhaps forever!

So glad this worked out! Universal Cycles is my LBS and have also gotten great service at Specialized in Costa Mesa. Out of curiosity, what are the signs you noticed when the motor started going? Just bought a 2021 Levo Comp, hoping it won’t be an issue!

i thought and i could be wrong... the whining of the motor was little louder a few days before. but i thought it could be because i was inside a valley in between the trail. so i ignored it. then a few days after, i was just climbing up on eco and suddenly the assist cut out and the motor still makes the sound that it's working. felt like a belt or a bearing was worn down. but since it still works manually, i just kept on and rode the trail i intended to go down in anyway. when i picked up mine, they said motor is brand new and updated. there was a batch that was bad. so hopefully we're all good now.

When my friend’s bike started doing that he got a video and it was in perfect tune with the intro to Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song, which he overlaid onto it. It was hilarious, I wish I had it saved.
