Levo SL Gen 1 How is the SL tire size limitation working out for you?

I'm seriously considering a Levo SL, but the 2.3" tire is a cause of concern for me. I've found that a 2.5 or 2.6" tire is optimal for the rocks and roots we encounter where I ride. I can always put a 27.5" plus 2.6 in the front along with a taller fork/crown race, but it seems that 2.3" is pretty much the limit in the back if you want any mud clearance.

Advice and experience welcomed!

Here's a couple of pics of a 2.6 Ground Control Grid on the rear. Currently running a 2.6 Purgatory, no issues.

Bigger tires fit. Not sure why they say 2.3 is max.

I swapped out the fork wheels and tires on my 2021 comp carbon SL before riding it. I’m a fan of big tires and rims even if the industry tells me they’re for beginners. I’ve got Maxxis 29x2.6 EXO+ Assegai front and Dissector rear on 33mm internal width rims. There is more room to the sides than forward to the “yoke” of the chainstay.

There’s a small rubber mud guard/flap preventing debris from getting between the back of the frame/pivot and the yoke. When the rear suspension is compressed this slides aft relative to the yoke and into the center knobs of my 2.6 Dissector. I trimmed a cm off the back of it and it no longer buzzes on the rear tire when landing a jump.
