Decided to switch out the stock Specialized Levo SRam Code RS brakes for Hope T4 V4. I wanted to document my parts list and share it with the forum. I want to keep the SRam Matchmaker shifter and dropper lever. The brake color part listed is for Black/Black. Pictures will come after I finish the install. If you have Hope Brakes on your Levo post them here.

Front brakes are installed. Notes: Used my digital torque wrench to tighten all the bolts. I cut 8 inches or 20cm off the hose length. Routed the hose and retightened the hose fittings. Did the lever flipping did not see any bubbles so put the top cover back on. Installed the Matchmaker for the dropper post lever. Checked that the 4 pistons were extending together. Applied a little slick honey to the pistons while they were extended. Aligned the caliper with the brake pads out and verified no leaks once the pads were reinstalled. Next I will be installing the rear which will be a little more work. Pictures below.

Looks great, let us know what you think compared to the SRAM set up. I was looking at the same for my Levo when funds allow.

Rear Brakes installed:
Notes: Brake hose was easy to install through the frame. Did a reverse bleed on both front and rear. Next will bed in the brakes before hitting the trails for a real test.

It’s a learning curve as the brakes are much stronger. Ride today was going great until it was cut short the front brake lost power. Needs another bleed. Just to compare the SRam RS brakes with the Hope T4V4 is easy. The SRam RS is a good trail brake and the T4V4 is a good Enduro - Downhill brake. It is easy to lock up the brakes with the T4V4 so more attention needs to be put on your braking modulation. I also have another FS Ebike Luna X2 with Hayes Dominion A4 which is a really good brake for trail riding too. To compare the Hayes Dominion A4 to the T4V4 and SRam RS it sits between the two of them. So from least powerful to most is SRam Code RS then Hayes A4 and then Hope T4V4.
