just wanted to say hi to all members, been using the forum for quite a while but not posted anything until now. Started with a Cube Hybrid Pro and moved on to a Vitus E-escarpe VR Which I swapped the motor on from the E7000 to E8000, experiencing a few issues which I wanted to share as I can see quite a few people are thinking of doing this. ??

Genuinely appreciate the knowledge on this forum to get me to this point. I’ll post in the right section later but a quick summary, bought a Vitus VR with a E7000 motor, wanted to swap to E8000 which I bought aftermarket from Germany, swapped the motors which was easy from a mechanical point of view as the mounting is the same as the E7000 my 7000 switch works great and the motor runs fine so all good to that point, first test ride and noticed that the speed was way higher on the bike than in reality, after lots of reading on this forum realised the issue is that the aftermarket motor is set up in default mode and needs to be set up correctly. Downloaded STUNLOCKER which was godsend as told me what I needed to know which was that my wheel circumference is set too high at 3000mm and chain ring set to 38, my bike actually has 27.5 on the back mullet set up and a 34t which all accounts for the speed error I’m sure (happy to be corrected) now I have a bike that cuts out the motor way too soon and I’m stuck ??. I’ve also stupidly updated to the latest software on the motor and now on 4.9 but to be fair it would let me turn the bike on until I did that.

just a little warning to anyone deciding to do the swap, be carful that you have the knowledge and gear to make the changes to the settings on the motor after the swap and hopefully not get stuck like me. ?
