Just getting back into the swing of things.... Just bought myself a Turbo Levo Expert so a vast departure from my Singular Swift! So new I've not yet had a chance to get out other than a quick trip around the block! Hoping to get out tomorrow night with my 'Old' riding club (Godiva Trailriders). I used to do a lot, mostly stuff like Real Ale Wobble and HONC... Did venture as far as the SSEC in Belgium, but I was surprised to see from the sticker on my Singular that that was in 2011!!! I'm getting old, and was never really fit enough but I love riding, so an eMTB seemed like the obvious choice. Tonight's jobs consisted mostly of setting the suspension up to a decent baseline (suspension.. A new concept for me too), and swapping over to tubeless. The only issue I have is the weight, seems to be a little too much to be putting on a roof mount, and the new car doesn't have a towbar (unlike the outgoing car).

Excellent / Great to have you join us(y)

Yeah, roof racking E-bikes is tough ask & may not be the best idea

Hi there, have you tried a universal bike rack that literally clips to the tailgate or boot of your car. They definitely take the weight and you haven't got to try and lift your emtb to roof level to get it on your car. Check them out there's loads of different types about. They're quick and easy to fit and remove, also you don't get the wind whistle that you do with a fitted rack.

I've looked at that as an option, unfortunately I can't use one on the Panemera as it has a spoiler that can automatically pops, up which is part of the tailgate. It doesn't automatically deploy until you're doing over 100mph, which I wouldn't be doing... officer (especially with a bike strapped to the back). But even then, if I forget and open the sunroof, up it comes. I'll have to have a proper look when the car arrives to see if I can work around it. I guess the alternative is to take the battery out before putting it on the roof. :)

Welcome, and you will love your new bike. I had to smile when I saw a reference to Godiva Trailriders. I remember reading on another forum a while ago about a guy who joined them for a couple of rides, and afterwards described them as ' a drinking club that do a bit of cycling':)

Its a bit of a faff, but have you tried dropping the rear seats and taking the wheels off. Let us know how the ride goes.

That's going to be the way forward, although long term I really need to get it on the roof somehow. If we ever go somewhere it'll be me, the wife and 3 labradors!
