Hi all I’m about to buy a Reign E+0 Pro but have some issues I’m 5’10” but have a 30” inside leg and a fused ankle so my foot didn’t point so do I go for a small or medium? Then second question I can only find a medium with a 500ah battery is there a big difference to the 625ah? Hope you can help

Definitely not the small. Im 6'0" & ride a large w/a 31" inseam. You can always order a large & move the seat fwd & if needed order a shorter stem. My Trance came w/a 50.8mm stem & you could install a 32mm if needed. Be a shame to order the medium & find it cramped but that could be fixed as well w/a longer stem & seat adj. Id go for the large!

Straddling over the top tube measurement must be done as well!

Regarding the 625wh battery. Yes, that is a big difference from the 500wh. Id shoot for the 625 if it were me

I have the E+0, lovely bike, i had similar choice, small and medium in stock when i got mine, i'm 5' 7" so not the same issue as you, but went small as it's something i always do, go for the smaller, to be honest though, i noticed standover was pretty much the same on both, nuts nestling on the TT as you have found, so i wouldn't worry about standover being a significant issue between the two!

I would probably go medium if i had the choice again though, biggest issue for going smaller is that it reduces the dropper post you can get away with, i now have a 125mm dropper and about 3" of post out of the seattube due to the pivot on the downtube fouling the seatpost, if i'd gone medium i could have got a 150mm dropper in there.

It's a weird one as you look at the downtube being 40mm shorter on the geometry, so think you'd get that on standover, but from what i tried it wasn't really, you will already know it's also the one size that's missing on the website for geometry, that was annoying as well!

Thanks for that it’s difficult not being able to go try them do you have the 500 or 625 battery as I’m struggling to find a 625 in a medium

I have the 625Wh one, for what i do the 625 is needed, i've run the battery to zero a couple of times now, and regularly get to below 10% (amber light) on rides, then again i feel any battery left is just waste, so do tend to add to stuff!

The one thing to remember is that both batteries fit, so if you ever want 2 batteries, then you could get the 500wh now, then get the 625wh later, think they're about 750 quid, a lot of money but depends what you're doing, plus the bike is 250 quid cheaper with 500wh battery, so that could go towards the other battery, or even the range extender which is 250wh extra and attaches to the downtube

Use lateral thinking - pour iced water on your nuts before each ride so that they will retract and therefore pull clear of your frame - simples!!!

Seriously though, when I got my Trance in 2019 I found that the Giant size chart was way out. I am 5ft 6in and found the small frame far too short, so that I had the same problem as you because when I stood over the bike I was so close to the handlebar I was standing over the highest part of the toptube. When I tried the medium it immediately felt better. With the seat tube right down and using a short saddle (the front of which is 2 inches shorter than a normal saddle) it just gave me enough clearance when standing over the frame because I was now standing further back over the lower part of the toptube.

A mate of mine is the same height as you with same leg length and rides a large.
I (at 5'9" and 27" inside leg) would also go for a large as the medium is just too short even for me.
Iirc he's even using it with a 50mm stem.
Personally I've never worriwd about the standover height as for the most part you're on the seat and pedals so not an issue... When I do stop I tend to drop the saddle, put my foot down and lean to the side instead of sliding forwards off the saddle and stand straddled the top tube.

I bought a giant reign last month. Not sure how the geometry compares?
I am 5,7 with 30 inch lnside leg and bought a medium.
Bought from RM cycles in tenterden. They couldn’t have been more helpful. Fantastic service!
They had good stock in shop and I sat on the trance and reign in all sizes.
Settled on a medium reign with bigger battery and nice pedals (vaults) thrown in.
They set the bike up for me and made it tubeless.
Put water proof grease on all electrical connections.
Set up the sag.
Hope that helps?
