Hello Euan...
Don't suppose you are the same Euan who ran an MTB forum for a while a few years back ..?
Welcome ..and enjoy your bike

Hey Hodge, thanks and yes the very same person... how are you? Did someone else not start up a forum after I decided to stop mines?

Yeah alive and well although I’ve pretty much been dormant since last April due to working in the Aviation world, I can’t complain though as the company has looked after us.

yeah, once this is all over and done with I’ll be looking to get out as much as possible on the ebike so definitely up for a ride out somewhere.

I hired out a Levo down at Glentress (oh How I miss that place!) and I absolutely loved it, I’ve not had a shot of the Rail yet not it has the Geometry I like so it should be good

har to believe but this is the first forum I’ve joined since stopping my old forum ?

Do you still keep in touch with Kev ( Chopper ) ..did he stop riding altogether ?

what bike did you buy? I hired a Levi down at Glentress and absolutely loved every minute of it, I knew it was the beginning of the end for the old school bikes after that ?

I do still keep in touch with Kev... Yeah, he quit all together which was a shame as he was a bloody good rider... I think he needs an ebike ?

hopefully around about March/April we should start to see things improving enough to allow us to cross borders and county lines again

We did get a ride out with Kev down Burnley area as he stayed down there with his sister ..when we met up with another lad from down there who showed us around ( can't remember his bloody name ☺ ) please say hello next time you speak to him ..and yeah give him a quick ride around the car park when you get yours ..he was a good rider and way too young to have to pack it in ..
See you in a bit ..
edit : You two should meet up Gary ..Euan is a good rider ?

Alrighty, I’m about a 10 minute ride from the Pentland at Clovenstone
ah... yeah... I know where you mean.
I stay in East and Midlothian but work in the City
You'd struggle to get me enthusiastic about riding the Pentlands on a sunny summers day nevermind this time of year. Do you ride/dig at Bonaly at all?
It's great for XC and road riding out my way and I have miles and miles of singletrack on the doorstep but all the local woodland trails are way more mingin than usual just now from the covid daily exercise brigade and sudden increase in taking your dog to the woods instead of just round the block for a shit not having ever heard of trail maintenance. ;) I usually mtb in the Borders quite a lot with the Valley just half an hour away and stacked with great trails all the way from Selkirk to Peebles but have barely been down in 10months now.
Give me a shout when you get the Trek and we're able to travel to ride again.

I know what you mean about the Pentlands, I like riding up there in fresh snow but with the winter we’ve had it’s just a complete slop fest just now. I was out almost every other day during the first lock down as we had the weather but it soon became boring which was one of the reasons why I decided to bite the bullet and get an ebike, that should allow me to link up all the good stuff and get out further.

I don’t really ride at anomaly much at all, last I heard the land owner wasn’t happy with some of the trail building that was going on so I’m not sure what runs are still there

im really missing the valley just now, like you, I’m not far away from it but I’m just not willing to take the risk

yeah, when this is all over I’ll definitely give you a shout
