welcome, that is a nice model bike!!
I enjoyed my time in Florida, stayed at Daytona beach and crystal spring.
I drove from North Carolina to Texas and back.

Great choice of bike there?
See you have the quick release bottle mount so I take it you have the TEC pack too?

Yes I did but have not used it yet. Only have about 30 total miles on it so far. One ride of 24 miles and the battery had about 4-6 miles left, and most of the 24 miles were in ECO mode. So I guess it has a range of maybe 30 miles with just the stock battery.

That’s what I get stretching it out without too many big hills.
Like you I have the TEC pack if I want range although I use it almost exclusively without to make the most of the ace handling??

they showed me that small battery, that can be mounted over the normal battery, but they did not say how far it extends distance you can ride. but they did say it cost's $1000 au ($780us ) extra.
after looking at the focus, I called into a specialised lbs, they gave me a great deal, otherwise I would be on a focus.

The extra battery is the same as the internal so it doubles the range. I paid $500 us for mine.

sound's good, the battery they showed me that mounted over standard internal battery was a smaller battery. could have been a different model, there is not many of them in Australia that lbs only had the one bike

The internal battery on a Focus is smaller then the majority of bikes which is the reason for the ‘advertised’ improved handling 378wh.
As Jfkbike said, the add on pack is an additional 378wh doubling the range.
The add on pack is a little pricy, about £480 here in the uk. It does come with a few Easter eggs such as a quick release bracket for the TEC rail so you can snap on a water bottle when not using the battery, it also has some rubber straps for attaching a spare inner tube etc and waterproof suitcase which I modified the foam to accept the charger & cables as well as the extra battery & bits.
I used the JE James loyalty points awarded when I bought the bike to get the TEC pack so didn’t cost any more than the bike retail.

eckythump that sounds good. my specialised comp carbon fsr turbo levo not light, but I don't notice the weight when riding has 500ah I get a good range. it's very hilly where I ride. and I ride with a group fast pace twice a week up to 60km (40mile ) so need the range I have two battery's but don't carry the second one with me.

Levo is a nice bike, I liked the natural feeling of the Brose motor.
The Jam2 can be seen as a niche bike with its smaller battery but in reality I have only used the extra battery a few times up till now.

I very nearly bought a Jam2 29er with TEC pack off eBay. The combined 700wh was very appealing but the 29” wheels put me off.

Yeah, I’ve seen KTM’s offerings with combo wheelsets. Not sure if I’m good enough to notice the difference and after last weekend training wheels would be more beneficial...

Have you got the TEC battery kit with the smart rail thing, and managed to fit any water bottle in any holder properly? I have bought a side-loading water bottle holder, and still I cannot get a water bottle in it, because the holder is mounted too high up on the rail, which means the top of any water bottle won't get under the top tube. VERY annoying!

Yes I do and I have had no issues with mounting a water bottle cage and using it. It is shown in my picture, but I have the largest size frame so maybe that is the difference. You can also get some cages that have lower mounting locations, I know ATM Handmade had some custom King cages made that way. I have a few of them.
