Who wears headphones whilst riding?

For me getting out riding and listening to tunes is heaven... its one of those times I really get to listen to new music and tracks I might skip past if my hands were free.

Needing some recommendations for good riding headphones though.

I have a set of Shure IE Monitors that I use when gigging that are awesome on the bike but are far too good for sweating on. They are the expanding foam style in ear type.

They need to be quite small as anything that sticks out even slightly increases the wind noise considerably.

Don't mind if wired or bluetooth :)

Cheers

I have done in the past but my BT headphones were made by the Spanish Inquisition which is a bit off-putting. Also BT hammers my phone battery and I doubt it would last 3 hours running Strava as well. Some cheap, comfortable, wired headphones would be good though.

Yeah, I liked wired headphones too... although last year riding in the rain (with my water proof wired headphones) I knackered my phone... didn't account for the rain running down the wire straight into the headphone socket!

My five cents. Do not use expanding foam style plugs, as they tend to pop out if you get them wet/sweaty. Also a “pita” to get back in at speed/while moving/pedaling. Good earplugs that has a silicon plug that secures in your ear, like Bose soundsport, works great.

I can highly recommend these -- I like and use Bose, but these are a tiny fraction of the cost and I was surprised at the quality. Magnets to hold them together, clip on the wire to hold them to your collar, good battery life - excellent sound - and very very good value. One model has over the ear bits which may be more secure, but I find both very comfy...

Don't be fooled by the cheap price - they really are very good!

To be fair Anker make really good stuff. I'm a Photographer and use loads of Anker products (USB hubs, charging stations, caddys)..

Well worth a punt at that price.

I cant listen to music while riding, I find it distracting when I need all my concentration when im going for it.

For pumptracks, dirt jumps and skate parks I use the same phones as on the roadbike but only use one so as to hear who's around me and tyres/wheels. Otherwise it's just plain selfish/dangerous when others are around.

I think it might be a bit more nuanced than that :)
