Hi guys, been on this forum a month or two now after coming across it doing my research into what ebike to go for. I’ve made the decision on what bike to get and my local dealer has just the exact bike I want come in, in my size. I just keep stopping myself actually biting the bullet and buying it.
I’m 30 years of age and got back into mtbing last year. I’ve ridden motocross and enduro motorbikes since I was 16 but I’ve ridden less and less the last 2-3 years. I’ve lost the excitement and interest it used to give me. I bought a brand new KTM last year and have only covered 15 hours on it in 14 months, hence the reason going back to mtbing after roughly 12 years off one.
I do enjoy going out for a ride to cover some ground but steep uphill climbs do nothing for me lol. Which is the main reason I started looking at ebikes back in March. I also love going to bike parks and am very fortunate where I live that I’m 10 minutes away from bike park wales and also have another 5 parks within 30-40 minutes of me.
Now I’ve finally found the bike, its in my local dealers 10 minutes away and for some reason I’m having trouble committing to the purchase. I think it may be down to the fact I’ll have to sell my current analogue bike as I can’t afford to have that much money tied up in bikes at the moment due to being in the middle of building a house. I will be the only one out of my mates with an ebike, some of them are dead against them (typical nonsense how they’re for older people who struggle with a normal mtb and you cant use them as well at bike parks etc) when none of them have actually had a go of one to really comment. I suppose I’m more worried about going to the bike parks and spending most of my time riding on my own as my mates either won’t be able to keep up or will have to use the uplifts. Half the reason I want one too is to get more runs in at the bike parks so peddaling up with them to the top kind of defeats the object.
Anyone found themselves in the same predicament and can offer some advice?
