I recently purchased a 2020 140 hpc with the 625 battery, it has the kiox display, I was under the illusion this bike has the new motor with the 340% support etc. I have noticed after looking on the bosch web site there are 2 motors listed, the my19/20 and the new my20 .
My bike has the 19/20 is this even the gen 4 motor ? I was given all the talk at the shop that this was the latest and greatest and given the spec of the my20 motor

Look at a photo of it and if it has the tiny front chainring it’s the old version. If it has a large chainring it is the newest version. Very easy to see from any photo of a Bosch bike

The bosch 2 motors pictured below, the cube has the one on the left . I defanatley have the latest cube but it would seem they have the older motor, or at least a lesser spec motor.

I think you might be correct, its just that the new motor pictured on the right has a strange cover and the cube motor has a round cover like the old motor, a picture of mine, it has no cover cap badge because it fell off

Yeah, plenty of old Gen 2 covers around but finding a replacement Gen 4 cover might be more tricky as it’s a new motor.

Seems to be 2 different sizes of caps available. Perhaps the larger one fits the old cx and smaller cap fits the newer cx? I’m only guessing here.

Yeah I see what you mean now, the new cx does appear to have a strange shaped cover. I’m a bit confused myself now. Hope you find an answer.

As you have the large chainring it can only be a Gen 4 as the motors internal gearing could not cope with that big of a range change.

It would appear bosch offer a different outer casing for different manufactures for there gen 4 motor, unless its just cube specific , because the 2020 cube with gen 4 defiantly has a different external motor casing to the one they picture on there promotional pictures for there new motor.

Big front ring = Gen 4 .... small front ring = older model.
Based on looking around LBS the past few days the covers and such can be different as to how the motor is fitted in the frame. If it is angled up towards the front it will have one type cover and if fitted flat will have another.

All looks good then, the only reason I noticed the difference from my motor to the bosch pic was after loosing the bosch cover badge and trying to discover what I needed to replace it with. I can now relax and wallow in my self indulgence of having the gen 4 motor ;) . I did order a badge but its wrong, its to big lol

The bike in the pic has the motor on the top right which is the newer Gen 4 motor. I’m pretty sure you have the latest model. There is only one model of the gen 4 motor. It has not been out that long
I Agree, I have a 2020 cube stereo 160 and it has the new motor

Cheers for the pics guys, mine is the same, in this picture you can make out the front shape, those pictures also allow me to try and track down the correct design cover now.

and on the Focus Jam2 and Thron2... no cover at all!
I agree it’s hard to believe there is no cover for the Jam2, it would potentially also help reduce noise. I have spoke with Rockguards and they have not yet developed a cover as they have had a 2020 model made available.

Do you or anyone have any suggestions or DIY battery cover solutions for the 2020 Jam2?

My missus has the 2020 Thron2 with the Bosch motor. There doesn't seem to be much noise from it all at because I often have to ask her whether she's actually got the motor on or not. Not too worried about a bash guard on her bike because it's set up for touring (the full EQP kit) but I'm not so sure about my Jam2 (if it ever arrives!).

Ibought my wife a 2020 Cube Acces with 4th gen motor. It also looks nothing like the right hand picture ( or the left hand!). So either the pic is wrong or there are different covers as someone above said.
Re noise...I read a number of reviews that said it was as noisy as the 3rd gen but my wifes motor seems near silent (no quips please Zimmer).
