Hi, thanks for reading! First Post here so I'll be brief.
I have a hardine 5 2021 with Alivio groupset. I'm slowly doingsome upgrades, changed my forks to Rockshox, different headset, saddle. I'd like to change my rear mech. I've whittled it down too Shimano Deore Shadow RD-M592 9 speed. Basically I'm looking for a second opinion if this is a direct replacement for my Alivio M3100?
Thanks

Yes, you could use that one, but is the Alivio worn, if not, the upgrade to Deore isn't really an upgrade, save the money.
If the chain and cassette are worn, you may go for a 10 or 11 spd rear mech with clutch, XT shifter and of course a new chain and cassette, sure the costs are higher, but that's a real upgrade.
You're gonna like the clutch and XT shifter, those two parts are the key.
