Hi anyone have decent theft protection on their ebike in North America?

I really like the look of this but it's only available in Europe.

Anyone find something similar in Canada?

Closest thing I've come across so far would involve me making a diy hidden tracker using a Samsung smart things GPS tracker running on the Bell network and wiring it up to one of the extra ports available on my Brose 2.2 motor.

Thanks in advance for any help

I’ve been using AirTags hidden somewhere on the bike. I think Mucoff makes an AirTag holder for inside your tubeless tire. Mentos Mints are a cheap alternative but they don’t work very well. Ask how I know.

Thanks for the reply.. Although I don't get the mentos mint comment... Straight over my head sorry haha.
I thought of using air tags (or a Tile tracker as I don't have any Apple products) but then I read that the air tags notify anyone with an iPhone that they are being tracked. So if the robber has an iPhone they are notified that they are being tracked and could then search for the tracker or turn their phone off and do whatever.

I also like the idea of real time GPS a little more. I'm new to ebikes and a little surprised that the battery isn't taken advantage of more..(at least in North America)
We track all our vehicles at work and would love a much smaller version of what we use but so far I can't find anything in Canada

I wish there was something more specific to tracking bikes. The AirPod seems to work for now but I haven’t heard of any recovery stories. It’s like we have to act fast and alone when using this system.
Oh…the mento mint comment was way over my head too. 😉

Cool well I'm going to do some more research but I'm for sure putting something in sometime in the next few weeks. I'll post pics and instructions if I diy a real time gps tracker into the bike. It seems a real shame to not use the ample available power.

I'd still really love to hear if anyone else has a real time gps solution
I use a Tractive GPS tracker..........its sold for dogs and cats but works equally well for a bike!! Depends on your bike if it can be hidden well. It is battery operated. I have the XL and battery lasts about a month. It helps battery life if where you store it prevents it from getting a GPS signal. So for example I keep my bike in my house and it only picks up GPS when I take it outside. GPS tracking is real time and pretty good. It also has a configurable safezone with alerts when the bike leaves the safe zone.........you also get an alert when the battery goes down to 10%.

Not a bad option and would likely fit somewhere in my bike. Will keep this one in mind for sure. Thanks!
