Looking to acquire a GoPro... but I am finding the minefield that is all things GoPro and the similar, one which is frying my brain

What do you good people use? Any recommendations? Reading reviews not sure if I should go for the session (compact and 'basic') or the Hero... probably going to be pre-owned so looking at the older models Hero5 onwards...

Firstly getting the footage is easy... i have gp5 and a hero session..
now the biggest thing with any camera is the editing do you have the time and patience to edit
otherwise the clips will just stay on the camera.. it takes time even to copy the footage off the camera..and lots of storage... if you dont have good work flow(software that you know how to use or hours to learn how to use it... i would not bother..
the best way to get good smooth footage is a gimbal ...

I've got about £700 on go pro kit that's been sitting in the cupboard for years unused. As said above, it's the editing that takes the time. It never looks brilliant and you'll usually not watch it.
