Anyone know the screw specifications for the GIRO N-1 ratcheting buckles? I lost a screw from my GIRO Privateer R, cannot find replacement parts, and hoping to find screw size to source that way.

Advanced thanks for the read.

Cheers!

Take it to Ace Hardware... there are helpful hardware people there... they were able to match my missing motor mount.

(I'm just assuming you live near me)

A bit steep for losing a screw though!
Alternatively, remove the one you have left and go to local independent hardware store.

Thanks! I found those replacement sets here in the US but everyone is out of stock. Here, it's discontinued. I spoke with Giro and they confirmed they no longer supply the parts I need, but said they'd email me with screw specs if they can track it down. Fingers crossed. I can take the other shoe's screw to hardware store and try to match, but it'll be a longshot.

Cheers

Yeah, trying to match at hardware will be a last-resort plan. If I'm lucky, I'll find a longer-than-needed screw with correct thread count and diameters and cut it to length. Thanks for the suggestion.

Here are screw specifications for anyone else looking for Giro ratchet buckle hardware:

M4 x 0.7 x 6 mm long flathead screw.

Apparently, Giro only installs (1) screw in each shoe's buckle assembly even though there are two threaded holes under each buckle, and the buckle itself has a keyhole slot for the second screw. This said, however, the insertion hole in the keyhole is too small for the head of Giro's screws. I'm having our machine shop turn down (2) screws (one for each shoe) that'll allow me to use the keyhole feature and install each buckle with (2) screws. Don't forget the threadlocker.

Cheers,
