Hey Rob, where is the love, where is our subforum for Giant riders. We have fun, we have issues, we buy parts, we take pics, we ride, we need somewhere to play as well.

Is it possible, save looking for posts all over the place? Seems to be a growing number of owners around now.

This site has very much become a Levo forum, pity as it started out quite good.
Really? All I hear about on here is how much the Levo sucks and how much better Comencal and Vitus are.

The new Giants are such improvement of improvement over the horrible Full-E models

Hope you get your own sub forum

I would disagree with that - the largest threads and most commonly commented on are on the Levo and Kenevo simply because these are the most popular bikes in terms on numbers of ownership, so there will always be Levo related threads at the top of the whats new section.

There are all sorts of bikes being peddled around by members, but a Forum is only as good as the content that members generate - Giant is a good example of this in that 6 months ago there was very little Giant info on the forum simply because not many members had them, whereas now there is a fair bit, and definitely a need for a Giant section.

If you want to see more content about other bikes then start a thread about one, and get the conversation going

There is some merit to the claim that this is a Spesh-forum. But I've got the impression there is more and more focus on other brands. It seems to me there is enough posts about Giant for it to have its own subforum. I mean, KTM has one.

FWIW I have a Scott Genuis 710 so not really trying to push the Giant angle.

It is just an observation about the site, I enjoy reading about peoples experience and have read a lot of the posts,

Perhaps as Rob owns a vlogs about specialized it follows that path, I find it hard to believe that I and a few others are the only ones riding Scott E bikes but the Scott forum has nothing happening.

Just an opinion, not trying to offend.

I know Rob wants to and is trying to test more and more different bikes for his vids, and part of the problem has been getting access to test rides, mainly because everything sold out so quickly last year taking a lot of brands by surprise, meaning they only had small test fleets, if any. For example it took him best part of the year to get hold of the Vitus to test, as they only had the one demo bike and it was booked out to all the major magazines well in advance.

I think he has been putting in a lot of ground work with various brands to get early access on 2019 models so that he can spread the love so to speak, and the growth of the Forum over the last year has enabled him to get good leverage to do so.

Got to remember the forum is still very young, and evolving pretty quickly, makes sense to have a sub section for each brand, but until very recently Rob was the only MOD/Staff member so a hell of a lot of time and effort to keep the forum running smoothly as it expands without some help.

I think 2019 is going to see some exciting steps forward round here, and the great thing is that the members are all really good at pushing the content and discussions.

Start a thread telling us all about your Giant bikes. No doubt Rob would move it into the Giant owners forum when he gets time. I'm genuinely interested in the newer Giant Emtbs (had no interest in the older models at all though). There's no specific section for my bike either. There is however a massive thread full of great information from many owners of it though.
This site has very much become a Levo forum, pity as it started out quite good.
Were you a previous member from back when Rob first started the Forum?
As for the Forum being Levo biased. That's just representative of the world of Emtbs. There are more Levos around than most other brands combined so more questions/discussion. If you want good info on your own bike simply contribute some info and start some discussions.

I’d love to see more giant content. Without really riding either bike I’ve whittled my choices on paper down to a trance e2 and abase levo+upgrades. I’m interested to hear more about the giant.

I’ve ridden both. I rode the Giant first and was expecting a lot from the Levo, given its rep, but was overall very disappointed.

Admittedly the one I rode was a demo model that felt like it might have not been treated as gently as it should have been. I absolutely hated the dropper on the Levo. But that can be changed. The specialised app is great. Head and shoulders above anything Giant (or anyone else) has to offer.

Overall though the Giant just felt... right. I was instantly confident on it where I just couldn’t get into a groove on the Levo.

Each to their own, but all I’ll say is that if I’ve learned one thing more than anything else from all the testing I’ve done, it’s that ‘on paper’ really doesn’t count for much.

I find that the Giant ‘feels’ lighter, more responsive, more precise and more capable than the Levo. A lot of people would disagree with me, and that’s exactly the point I’m trying to make!

Book a test and have them as close to each other as possible! I had it narrowed down to a Trek LT9 and a Giant Trance E+1. I had tried each of these about a week or two apart from one another and in my mind they were neck and neck.

Last Saturday I booked both to test on the same day with a mate of mine. We rode around a bunch of trails swapping over periodically and the differences really stood out. Made the decision easy and was also nice to have another opinion, although we both agreed that the Giant was the winner, hands down.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll add a Giant forum ASAP.

Thanks Rob, wasn't meaning to be rude at all. Just whenever trying to find any info etc, anything regarding Giant seems to be all over the place, thought maybe having all the relevant content in one area might make it easier for anyone with a Giant EMTB. Much appreciate yours and all the other posters input and time in what is looking like a great resource.
I guess where we are here in Australia, we don't see many other brands like other countries might. I have never seen a KTM, Commencal or other brands listed at our local area's. Most popular here seem to be Merida, Specialized, Giant, Trek, Focus brands.

Thanks again.

No probs at all dude.

Started the site and kinda put a finger in the air and guessed as to how popular each manufacturer would be. As the site has grown naturally things worked themselves out :)

Plan will be to have full representation for each brand as the content grows.

PS - This is not a Specialized forum at all, it just happens that the Spec seem to be the most popular brand in terms of ownership here. Plus, they have manufacturer support here with their Rider Care Department which really helps.

Cheers,
Rob.

The Levo FSR is a fantastic bike to ride. It just has problems ,especially the battery/controller . Sally's is nothing but trouble. AND the dealer/distributor pretty obviously couldn't give a stuff. Keep fobbing off with BS excuses. Almost everytime we ride it gains another problem. We started with the light display red light fault. Was told it was just the light panel. Now we have the Bluetooth problem wonder what garbage they will come up with to avoid replacing the unit this time ( still has the display problem). Spedcialized in this country has never looked after it customers since the days after Sinyard sold the company ( long time ago, and yes I have been riding MTB's for a very long time). Personally I would NEVER buy a Specialized in Aus. for exactly that reason. I told her this and, as usual , she chose to ingnore me. She could have bought a new model Giant and at the very least had a guaranteed warranty support ( exemplary in this country).
NOTE: The bike is still very rideable and fun. Just display indicates a dud cell all the time and the bluetooth is intermittent and won't talk to the brand new head unit at all.

I was considering getting the Giant full e from 2017 but was pretty disappointed with the spec of them.

I ended up going for a Levo due to availability and price, i really like the new models from Giant.

I have ridden a Giant for the last 9 years it was faultless if i hadn't of got the Levo i would have gone for the new Stance E they look great.
