Get into EMTB take 2 - Which bike circa £4k

So after a short stint with a Vitus E-Mythique which doesn’t want to turn on again and with no Bafang service centres in the UK, I am on the hunt for another bike, learning from my past I ideally want a better known brand and mainstream motor.

Ideally looking for a sub £4.5k, which I would put through cycle scheme.

I‘m a 5”9 male around 85kgs, primarily riding in the Surrey Hills but with the odd bike park trip, and potential holidays to the Alps.

current options:

Scott Patron ST 910
Orbea Wild H30
Marin Alpine Trail E1
YT Decoy
And of course Spec Turbo Levo

Even though I got stung with the useless £2600 Vitus, it was a blast when it was working, but I just don’t want to spend a huge amount.

All feedback and suggestions welcome.

Thanks,

If you paid by Credit card you can raise a section 75 claim. It was sold with a 2 year warranty and as CRC/Vitus went bust the credit card provider should take on their responsibility of the warranty. Some people have even had full refunds months down the line.

I'm not sure if you have the same protections through debit card though.

Have you taken a look in Paul's Cycles ? the company has been around forever, and used to adorn a page in MBUK in the 90's

Thank you, just called the CC company to try and get this rolling, would be a great solution!

Based on how unlucky I got with CRC, I like the idea of walking into a shop with any aftersales concerns.

Aware any company can go under but I want to try and support the bricks and mortar shops as well.

Orbea Wild H30 from eBikeShop.co.uk in Farnham looks like a pretty good deal, but to be fair I know absolutely nothing about the Wild H30 or the eBikeShop. Just saying.

The first person I’ve found that has both the Orbea and Scott and the Cube suggested above in stock so will head down to see them all side by side.

Crazy good value that hey 😃👍
It is , I've the fullray 150 and it's a belter of a bike , way better than my Cube stereo hybrid race.
Clocked 1600 miles on it and only just had to fit new chain, cassette and chainring .
I was constantly working on the cube .

I suggest you join Pedelecs forum. (If you still have the Vitus)

They are more into building and rear hub motors, but are really clued up on self repair, with a deep knowledge of electrics and battery tech, controllers etc
Although they are quite clique and opposed to mid drives(they are coming round to the notion) many people who join have bought a cheaper bike* and are having problems with it, and thus are very good at helping them diagnose the issue and sorting it

* Im not saying the Vitus is cheap. Just pointing out theyre good at helping fix ebike probs

On there, the forum member 'Saneagle' is probably your best bet at talking you through the problem

It's a absolute bargain price on a simplon at merlin right now I saw it online it's 65 percent off the price but they are in small even I have too many bike's I would buy it if they had any other size it's top of the line components and the lowest price i seen on a full susp emtb it's also good price for orbea rise 2023, mod at bikester.no or bikester. se it's around four thousand pounds in English money fourty thousand in Norwegian money but you might have to pay for importing it it's top shelf components they also have a decent NS bike same price but it's a full Enduro bike with coil shock but it's cheaper components transX deore etc but it's a very cool bike both the ns and the orbea is black bikes clean lookin without visible brand's on the frame but if you are a small man or like small bike's the simplon is around thousand quids cheaper I don't remember the color

That's a absolute bargain it's about five hundred less than the simplon has a rockshox domain that's a 38mm stn fork like the zeb and fox 38 and it's a Bosch performance line they feel super great and doesn't sound like a radio controlled car like my ep8 😂 if you don't have a emtb and live in Britain and doesn't shit money or want to use some on your favorite upgrades you need to check out the emtb Doomanic just posted 2500 quids I almost wants it myself 😊
