Third motor in my Pro carbon seems after 1 ride to be good. Some noise does develop after a few KMs but it never gets any louder than my EP8. No hassles from Specialised and I sent them a video of the faulty motor sound and they responded well.

So happy for now..!

I just had my motor replaced 3 rides ago , back to the horrible noise again (maybe it's supposed to sound like that😂) starts off really quiet then after 15-20 minutes it's really loud almost feel vibration 😳

Mine is loud as well, noticeably so and much louder than mates bikes (bosch). I just think its probably what they do rather than being out if the ordinary so would he interested in other experiences too.

the fact you’ve had 3 or 4 also indicates its more normal than being out of place, no???
My Gen 3 is whisper quiet , very silent compared to Bosch. Nothing like the video at all.

I am chasing down some squeaking noise, but not yet certain it's coming from the motor.

I have riding buddies with the same motor. Their bikes are very quiet. There has got to be an assembly problem or a quality problem of some sort causing this inconsistency. Overall a great bike except for this issue.Hopefully a new motor will resolve this issue for me and I can continue to enjoy this ride.

Speaking with LBS and Specialized, they advised me to try 2 more rides. There are cases where the new motors was louder for the first 200 miles. If the noise is the same, the motor will be replaced.

I'll give that a go and see before I take my one back 👍👍

After watching the video by performance line bearings showing the overhaul and modifications they do, its clear to see it's the bearings that are the weak spot. I can't believe that Brose designed this motor with the gasket for the casing not on the inside of the two bolts. Water pisses passed these bolts and straight into the motor, the bolts should be on the outer side of the gasket.
I won't be washing mine anymore with a hosepipe.

My second motor failed before its first wash! It's something expanding with heat build up. That's why it goes quiet for the start of the next ride.

Just rode my Trek Powerfly 9.7 with Bosch 3rd gen motor. Can barely hear it. If my 2022 TL Expert was this quiet I would be happy. Motor was replaced on the TL but have not been able to try it out as it is in Arizona and I am back in Minnesota. It is disappointing to hear that the new Brose motors are having these issues.

My 22 Levo is booked in next week , I've only done 50miles on my 2nd motor and it actually sounds worse than the original motor did when replaced 👎

After the first 200 miles with my TL PRO, the noise is always present. I wait to do two more rides and then I change the motor if it doesn't improve.

When I went on my new Levo.pro last week it was totally silent, I did a first ride and covered 48 mile mostly in eco.
Did 84 mile today, 42 mile in eco then back home using trail and turbo. I can now hear a slight whine from the motor. Bike has never been washed either. Specialized need to get this bloody motor issue sorted ASAP. Its no good simply replacing like for like every month or so, there needs to be a full recall. The standard bearings in these motors simply aren't up to the job. I can see specialized doing a firmware update and lowering the power in an attempt to stem the problem.

I spent a lot of money thinking it was one of the best ebike on the market. Today I was ashamed with friends who have other cheaper and quieter brands.

It's a shame because I had a great time with the previous TL 2019 Comp.

Thinking about finishing the season and changing brands.

I don't think a slight whine is a problem. That's what I have now. Similar volume to my EP8 bike. Starts silent and gets a little louder is OK with me. My first two motors you could hear from about 30 meters away...

These motor failures, is it a deal breaker? Is it one out of 5, 10 or 100 motors that fail?

It's not a deal maker for me tbh , I love my new Levo and my last motor replacement was less than a week , good excuse to get some analogue bike miles in🤘🤘🤘

Good to hear Cb. However, I'd say it's a must to have a good lbs close to your home, in this case.

That's exactly how my last two motors sounded, same symptoms as you starts quiet after 20mins get very loud, I'm now on my 3rd motor with 200 miles and it's still quiet so here's hoping I won't be visiting my LBS anytime soon 🤟🤟
