I finally finished my long-running build of my 2023 Levo.

It looks like Van Halen’s guitar went to Mardi Gras and I love it.

I searched and couldn’t find any info on these forums about the custom Levo frame protection decals made by Roost MX.

The decals are easy to install and tough as nails, but they don’t have super custom coverage or fitment, so you’ll see some gaps around the bike.

Here are the build details:

Stock bike: Levo Carbon Base

I really wanted the MasterMind TCU but the deal on this bike was too sweet and included an extra 700wh battery when I got it in September. In practice I don’t miss it with my phone mounted.

Frame:

• Custom decals by Roost MX

Suspension:

• Fox 36 Rhythm (takeoff from Levo Comp build)
• Fox Float X (also a Levo Comp takeoff)
• Custom shock decals from Slik Graphics

Brakes:

• SRAM Maven Ultimate Expert (red splash color)
• 220 mm front, 200mm rear HS2 rotors

Cockpit:

• Oneup Carbon e-bar, cut to 780mm
• Wolf Tooth grips, purple
• Spank Split stem, 35mm length, purple
• Specialized SWAT concealed tools in stem
• PNW components Loam Lever, purple
• Peak Design OutFront phone mount V2
• Lezyne 500X headlight, purple

Drivetrain:

• SRAM GX AXS Transmission Deraillleur
• SRAM GX T-Type chain, waxed with Silca’s chain wax immersion bath thingy
• SRAM T-Type shifter pod
• 150mm Miranda cranks (to be replaced by Pinnd 145’s as soon as they’re released in Specialized offset)
• Wolf Tooth front chainring, 36T, “Drop stop B” (Transmission compatible)
• Oneup Components aluminum pedals, purple

Wheels/Tires:

• DT Swiss EX 511 rims: 29/27.5 mullet
• DT Swiss 350 hubs
• Specialized Eliminator Grid Trail rear/Butcher Grid Trail front (Stock tires are so good I put them on all my bikes now)
• Cushcore eMTB inserts & valve stems

Seat:

• Oneup Components dropper post V3
• Stock saddle
• Specialized Stix taillight

Removed:

• Basically all the stock components
• Cascade link (standard shock length) ... this absolutely destroys the playful nature of the bike and made it feel dead on the trail.
• SRAM Code RS brakes… these did not cut it compared to the Mavens
• SRAM AXS upgrade kit (not transmission)… this felt like it was gonna tear itself apart every time I shifted under any load, with a loud pinging sound. I already had to replace one cassette and chain after 800 miles. The new transmission shifts much much more satisfyingly under load.

SRAM says Mavens are so strong that they require pretty specific mounting hardware, so I stuck with their recommendations:

I know people talk about the lever resistance due to Dale Stone’s video but in practice I find them extremely easy to live with and I’ll never go back!

Thanks but did you use the included 20P2 adapter in the kit or buy the 40P adapter to fit the 220 front rotor?

Oh! Yeah I used the included 20P2 for the 200 in the back and bought the 40p for the 220 up front.

I've my design ready, I was going to do it over winter just gone but work keeps getting in the way.
I'm lucky I have a spray shop
To do my graphics and then apply a clear protective film
Anyway I like your bike
