Hi folks,
I have the adjustable headset cup at -1 on a 2022 alloy.
On the specialized official website, it mentions it is not compatible with the base alloy model.
I think it works just fine... headset seems snug, turning the steerer 90 degrees and rocking back and forth does not show signs of play.
Does anyone ride this headset cup on a base alloy?
Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi, I believe the frames changed at some point during the manufacturing process for that year. If the adjustable cup fits yours, then you likely have an early 22 frame.

I’ve been hunting around for an after market one that’ll work on the the newer head tubes but no luck yet.

Don’t suppose you have photos of the difference? Was it frame colours based? And how would you tell

Look under top tube there's a sticker with date of manufacture.

So if a 2022 base alloy model has the cutout in the frame then the headset should fit? is that correct

Trying to do this on my lads 2022 Model (with the Fox 36 Forks) and seem to be getting play in the headset after rebuilding it

No play at all with the original headset
