Gap in motor housing in my 2019 Levo

My Turbo Levo has the rear pivot protector kit installed and I've also installed a SicoMTB DualGuard and there is still a relatively large gap that could potentially let crap in. I can feel the piece of foam that has been placed there to act as a filter but wonder how much it actually does? Should I put more in to plug the hole better or is this an air vent in a stupid spot?

Dear god, I thought the 10mm X 10mm hole in my 2019 Kenevo was bad, that's just a joke. I put a flap of mastik tape over my little hole and it has seemed to stop letting crud in.
