Keeping the water out of all the joints would be difficult with many joints, but I'm in full agreement that energy flexibility is a good thing.

The new Bosch setup, and others like it with a fixed heavy 700+ battery, doesn't appeal to me one bit.
As long as the top end of the down tube is blocked water would not get in there.
It would make manufacturing of batteries more expensive, so I doubt it will happen.

I, like many other people, am happy to pay more for a product that suits my wishes better.
