Unanswered Front Chainring Gearing Question

I’m purchasing a Niner Rip e9 with the Bosch motor and it has a 36t front chainring. The Trek Rail has the same motor and battery but runs a 34T front chainring. How would this change the power delivery? The way i understand it the motor internally adjusts and limits torque so what advantages and disadvantages would this have?

If the rear cassette is the same then the gearing is lower on the Trek - ie more crank revolutions for the same distance but more torque applied at lower speeds per distance traveled - do you drive a manual car? If so think how easier it is to pull away in 1st gear compared to 2nd gear.

I race MX and we usually drop a tooth on the front for indoor racing vs outside so I’m assuming it would work the same way. Is it just for quicker acceleration and if so with a 20 MPH cut off (USA) it makes me wonder why they chose a 36t? The reason I’m asking is because I plan on racing GNCC races on the bike.
