Freewheel not freewheeling . Or it could be motor running all the time.. I went out out this morning got a mile started spinning round. Turns out wheel not tightened goosed hub and freehub. It was not freewheeling when I went out pedals turning all the time. Put on old wheel when I tighten the cassette just spins round . Can't decide if motor . But motor off same so has to be freehub yes or am I speaking rubbish.

Im afraid your text is a bit garbled but from what I gather your cranks are turning rather than freewheeling. Yes a failed sprag bearing in the motor can cause that but not if it is happening with the motor switched off. So the more obvious culprit is a freehub that is not releasing.....stuck pawls if it is that type of freehub. Its a 5 minute job to find out. Remove the cassette and then the freehub to inspect and clean.

I think I never tightened it up properly for some strange reason. But yes when I went out I should have sussed it was not right with pedals turning. Hub damaged freehub pawls all gone . I put on old Roval wheel with new shimano freehub. Still the same I'm thinking the spacer may be the culprit . It spins OK till you put wheel on. It was a hope hub so different spacer for Roval setup.. Take chain off in morning and see if its working then.

My free hub just failed at 1060miles. Bought a Dt Swiss wheel assembly. Waiting on warranty on stock wheel
This was self inflicted I pulled whole cassette and freehub off Hope wheel. Seems if you do that you can't plop it back on like that as the seal doesn't seat properly. So it wasn't on right and that's what did the damage . But trying to use old Roval wheel with new freehub it was binding up. Got the bearings changed on wheel still the same . Could be the bearing is not seated properly I have been told by Berkshire cycles . Not a lot of cycle shops in my area and I don't have tools or capabilities to do that myself. The damaged wheel is on its way back to Hope so they will repair it ouch.
