Hi all, not really Emtb specific but is it worth wrapping( Invisiframe) a Matt raw carbon frame? Was going to buy a kit then thought there’s no paint to protect🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Well, sorta maybe. If your primary goal is to protect the material and the finish, go ahead and wrap it. Personally, I don't wrap anything. Small chips and dings add to the patina and life story of the bike. If it gets damaged badly, then I'll worry about fixing it. To me, clear wrap looks ok when new, but starts looking shoddy after just a little use.

Cheers mate, don’t think I’ll bother. I collect bike on Saturday afternoon and obviously will want to ride it Sunday( first E-bike) Think I’ll just heli tape the underside of the down tube . Invisiframe will take too much time and effort

I agree about the Invisframe being too much effort. But if you come back from your first ride with a stone chip on your new frame and believe that you will be seriously pissed off, then get some protection on. You can buy helicopter tape in various widths and lengths. It is easy to apply and, more importantly, to remove. It provides good protection from chips and scrapes and looks good for ages. The stuff on my current bike has been on since new and the bike is two and a half years old.

I have used Bike Tape from Bike Tart, but I haven't bought any for a couple of years as it lasts so well. But there are many products on the market of a similar nature.

Think I’ve got some tape in the garage, will definitely do the “basics”
I rate the invisiframe , it still looks good on my Occam after 4 years . It’s just the time factor, few hours to fit then they recommend you don’t ride it for a day😫 I

I found very hard to have wrap over mat, you can see all imperfection compared to gloss.

If you have a CF frame, go with wrap, if you have an AL, send it.

Just been into garage and looked at my bikes( I’m sad, I know😂) My carbon full sus is 4 years old, wrapped from day one and looks mint still. My gravel bike is Ally pretty new, not wrapped and looks tatty as Hell. Going to bell the shop tomorrow and see how much it is for them to wrap it if they’ve time before I collect
Just concerned as to how well they’ll do it…. I did a damn fine job but took ages
