Hello, ready to order a Fox Transfer Factory Post for my 2020 XL frame. I am so confused regarding post lenghts and diameters.150mm or 170mm? 30.9 or 31.6? Specialized comes with 34.9 so I already know I need a shim. Any downsides? please advice.

Not sure but maybe the shim is the downside. If so, have you looked at the Reverb AXS? No shim or routing hydraulics, long service intervals and it is very good.

I am a little apprehensive on that one too, but being kind of OCD, I’d like to match the dropper post to my Kashima fork and shock

Are you sure that 34.9 isn't the seat CLAMP diameter? I think that is the standard clamp size for frames with 31.6 seat tube diameters.

And, I have a FOX Transfer on my acoustic bike, very nice, very reliable. Almost two years on it, no service yet and it still works flawlessly. I have it paired up with a WolfTooth remote, also a very nice product.

That's the only downside I think.

Mix & match, choose whatever feels best. I've only read excellent reports about the Reverb AXS except my own when it was bricked by a firmware update. I got it back very quickly despite being bought online. Not a real problem because it's so solid, quick and precise.

Nice pooch!!! Is that a panther or a black Great Dane?

i used a ks lev integra 34.9 with a kcnc clamp. With this setup you can use the specialized lever and cable housing so it is plug and play. Rescue dogs rule !

I got a shim down to 30.9 from superstar for about a fiver. Have had 2 fox droppers, the 150, now the 175 on an XL. I'm 6'2, wear 34 leg jeans and have about an inch of post still showing. If that helps....

This is very helpful, thanks.
Do you know if its possible to insert the post all the way down to the seat tube collar? Looks like a 175mm Fox dropper may be a bit longer than the stock 175mm X-Fusion.

Just installed the 175 Transfer on my medium 2019 Levo. Have noticed that if I compress the seat all the way down it will slowly release. Over a 10+ hour period of crept up maybe 1.5 inches. Is that normal?

I have not noticed if mine does that, I also have the 175 2021 transfer, but I also keep my droppers in the up position while stored at home as I think that is better for the internals.

hi did you just pull the inner cable back with the old post and re-run the new on the same inner without moving the housing?
Im thinking of doing same on rise but worried about outer housing routing round battery and motor?
was hoping I can just pull inner back with old and pull through with new.
Any thoughts welcome?
tks

I don't see why you couldn't reuse the original housing unless its torn up. If you do run new outer definitely buy the RockShox double barb connector. I used it last week for running new brake lines thru the frame and it was a huge help compared to manually snaking the dropper post outer a few weeks before that

You probably could just pull the old cable through and leave the housing. Then push the new cable through. That seems like a smart idea I did not do lol.

I took it completely out and re ran new housing but same original cable. Mainly because my cable cutter kept botching the cable so I just re used the old one. I got a good cut on the old one and just went with it. It was not very old cable anyway. This was on my Hightower though and not the levo so can’t speak to running it around the motor.

Just replaced the stock dropper on my 20 expert Carbon SL with a transfer. I’m considering putting one on my 20 Sworks and ditching the AXS. I put one on my first ebike which was a an 18 base Levo. Best dropper I’ve had.
