Considering buying a fox 36 for my TL and my LBS has a good offer on a F36 Performance Elite fork at £800 but should I consider avoiding this and getting the ebike specific fox fork. I don't go leaping off of things and mainly trail ride. What do you think?

Normal fork fine - lots of threads on this on here, personally I dont see the point in going specific, maybe worth considering if you are a big lad and ride hard.

I have been riding a Fox 36 Factory on my hardtail for nearly a year, 1000 + miles, pushing the bike hard, no problems.

TBH put a normal fox 34 on my wife’s Cube and that has been fine. Cheers.

I have an E36, and honestly wished it was the regular 36. Reason why, no aftermarket hop up kits fit in E36. I’d love to try one of the spring kits out there.

As above. The hop ups just don’t fit. But I did manage to fit a sdc components DVC into my 36 Ebike fork.

Remember the 36 Ebike uses the 34 air spring, so travel is max 160mm and almost all aftermarket stuff in incompatible.

The good news is the grip2 version is excellent. If you can get it for a good price it’s worth considering. I’m very happy with mine.

There where a few companies showing new EMTB specific forks at Eurobike with a new 1.8 Tapered standard steerer/headset/headtube.

This makes more sense to me than the current crop of EBikes specific forks as it genuinely beefs up where you need it.

Very interested in this too...

Going to build up a levo this fall / winter and still on the fence on forks except I know I will be going 160mm.

I'm a burly guy though (about 115kg) so leaning towards E-bike 36 but currently riding a 34 factory 130 fork on my analog scott, which has held up great for a year + even with bike park thrashing and crashes so makes me think I would be fine with normal 36 too...

non E forks is easier to get hold of and can be had for less it seems?
